**official** big sky 08-09 thread

monday tuesday were pretty tasty. it pretty much didn't stop snowing for about 4 days. yesterday they reported 7 inches, but i had to work. its definitely been snowing up here, though

Yeah yesterday was pretty good. Challenger didn't open until after 12:30 or around there, but it was pretty deep. It was pretty windblown though and people were falling left and right. It was pretty funny to watch from the lift.

Any word on whether there will be any jumps open? I am so sick of rails and lack of jumps in 16 days of skiing thus far this season.

im pretty sure they have 2 35 ish footers with looong landings so you can take em deeper, and then two mini booters in swifty. idk if theres anything else

kip,. they have three tables open. my guesses would be a 25, 30 and maybe 40. we could barely get speed for the first two though, and we only hit it once cause we made up this tree run where we found an insanse ammount of tree rides, bonks and drops. and they have gotten 10 inches in the past 48 hrs. so it should be good. oh yea, the park crew spent the entire day working on the pipe, kinda wish they would just put that effort into some bigger, smoother tables since barely anyone hits the pipe

amen... with all the time and snowmaking efforts that have gone into the pipe, they could completely take it out, and use the time and resources to make a sick park with a huge jump line. but we all know that will never happen. and now with 'SNO-BAR' happening the next two weekends the park crew will be spending all their time constructing that, so i don't see anything happening until february... which is disappointing

yah, right next to swifty you'll notice a huge structure being built out of snow. to be honest, last year was pretty fun... the park crew builds a SNO-BAR and has a DJ, bartender, etc... they put logs over the top with xmas lights, shit like that, but it's actually pretty fun, basically an excuse to party in your snow pants with babes and music. it's this coming weekend, and next weekend (17th and 24th).

Oh sick man, I will be there the 17th. So its at night I take it. Do you ride last chair or is it within walking distance of the base area?

didnt ride the park today but got first tracks on liberty today and it was fukin insane sooooo good!!!! im ready for a blue bird park day tho

the pipe and the last jump in the park (the only one open) were very fun. Some kids were throwin down in the pipe.

Today was super fun up there. The park was ridin really well, and a whole bunch of kids were throwin down, it was sick.

The park was a junkshow today, so many people throwing down and getting crazy. I had fun though.

There is a TGR sticker on the backside of the gate into the Big Couloir, somebody needs to throw an NS sticker up there as well. I would do it, but I left all mine at home.

it made the jumps nice in the afternoon(like a typical spring bigsky day) but all mornin the jumps were hard/icy as hell. would have like the snow on the rest of the mountain to have been softer too. but still a refresher after a day at bridger...

the jumps were super fun yesterday, but i kept having speed troubles today. and its snowing like a mofo right now, so maybe a pow pow day tomorrow if we're lucky

im not totally sure of what the weekend is supposed to be like, but tuesday and wednesday were chock full of basically bottomless turns all over the mountain. and there's been at least a couple more inches since then. winter appears to be back!

Today was a sick day. There was still lots of pow to be had; people were putting some sick lines together in the snake pit (rat's nest). Also it looked like the pipe was cut last night, so that was fun as well.

hell yeah, nice. i was about ready to write this winter off, but we've been getting some high quality pow days the past couple weeks. i like it!

I got some face shots today; it was nice up there. Swifty park looks on point, but I did not hit it because I had my pow skis. I did hit the main park a couple times and those jumps are still really fun. There are also some new additions to both parks, but I haven't skiied up there for over a week, so they may not be that new. Anyway, Big Sky is riding well.
