lol the guy at the left

I love it! Did not think my boys would be sitting 3-0 in this series. Sid and the kids are getting it done. Werenski is a true warrior keeping on after taking that puck to the face.

That shot to the face was nasty. I'd be curious if he plays next game since he left towards the end due to the swelling. Looked like Lovejoy a few years ago when he took one to the cheek.

anyone see this?

im not saying i agree with the hit, but i get where the guy is coming from. if you are playing for Torts you always gotta always be a little on edge with ur game

OTT in 7, pens in 6, preds in 6, oilers in 5

I think the ott nor series will be interesting. If Henny plays on his head again, they can pull it off. Ottawa is so fucking good defensively though.

I think this series is going to come down to goaltending. Although if Ottawa's top forwards are all playing well (which hasn't happened in ages) then I think Lundqvist will have a tough time.

Definitely agree. I'm really rooting for an Edmonton Pittsburgh finals, and obviously Pit going back to back. Geno and Sid seem like they're on even more of a mission then they were last year.

Apparently Karlsson played the first round with 2 fractured bones in his foot. If anyone saw how well he played that's pretty amazing. He really is without a doubt the best d-man this decade.

Ottawa is a boring team to watch play except for him. He's an incredible player and obviously is tough as nails.

That was an insane game 7 holy shit. Here's hoping for back to back cups!!

Also very sad that this thread was 4 pages back :(

It's not that I dont likd the Pens but seeing a Sens and Preds final wouldve definitely been interesting to watch. I feel like if the Sens had won last night the Preds wouldve won the cup but I think now the Pens have the best shot

Disappointing loss. Could have gone either way. Sucks that pens are in the finals again. More fun to see new teams so hopefully Nashville takes it.

Also I'm in no way saying it's why they lost, but fuck reffing that series. I'm not sure how many times it happened that they didn't call the most obvious cross check or slash or high stick then a minute later call a super weak hold or something against the other team. Maybe it's my bias but it also seemed to be disadvantageous to the sens the majority of the time. They need to be far more consistent.

If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd say reffing these playoffs was biased against Canadian teams to try and give the edge to American teams since Buttman and the league have a hate on for Canada. I'm sure any Edmonton fan would say the same after some of the calls against them.

Sens had some lucky breaks from the refs too I thought. That blatant too many men on the ice was silly, they're lucky the refs didn't catch that shit. It was a pretty decent series, but I honestly think without Anderson or karlsson the Sens wouldn't have been much of an opponent.

Yup. Lucky like the blatant hold/hook on Karlsson that was the reason for the first goal a couple games ago. Or the blatant dive by Kessel that lead to a goal in the last game. That was one of 1000 missed penalties which I'd bet the Pens benefited from far more than Ottawa. Be happy it wasn't one that contributed to a goal.

And without Crosby or Malkin the Pens wouldn't have been much of an opponent.. pretty pointless to compare the teams without their better players. It went to 2nd OT game 7. Couldn't have been a more even matchup if you tried.

tbh i still dont know how i feel about subban, all i know is ive always liked crosby

Can't we like both of them?

I'm a Pens fan so naturally I enjoy watching Crosby. But PK seems to really have fun playing which is pretty infectious.

PK has tons of charisma which is great to see

Sid is just a great player

Both great to just watch for their own respective reasons

I started a website about hockey and sports betting. This is my game 1 recap and my game 2 preview. You guys like Pens or Preds?????

Game 1 recap:https://dumpandchangeblog.wordpress...-kid-in-town-game-1-stanley-cup-finals-recap/

Game 2 preview:https://dumpandchangeblog.wordpress.com/stanley-cup-finals-game-2-preview/

Pens pulled it off again. Outplayed in 5 out of the 6 periods of the first two games. Third period of 2nd game, Pittsburgh shut Nashville DOWN. Good call on Guentzel being one of the players to watch. Kid is playing out of his fucking mind! If the Pens win the cup, it's going to be a toss up btw him and Geno who gets the Conn Smythe. Pittsburgh is in Rinne's head, but I'll be very surprised if Nashville doesn't win game 3. I think splitting the next two games is the best case scenario.

someone who gets it!!!!! I dont trust people who bet unders.

Nice write up of game 5 (and the rest of games as well). Even though it was a blowout, that game was still fun to watch with all of the after whistle activities. Also, anyone who hammered the over were probably ready to kiss Hainsey for the 6th goal. I figured you'd say something about the damn water bottle throw though. I almost guarantee that it will be talked about OVER and OVER before Sunday night. Another thing was the injury to Ellis and possible suspension for Sissons, which both would suck. I'm a Pens fan, but I hate to see someone as good as Ellis get injured and miss time. Sissons' crosscheck doesn't warrant a suspension in my opinion. Maata was falling down as he got crosschecked. I thought what he got last night was enough. Great showing from Maata and Hainsey last night, though. Improved a shit ton from Game 3 & 4. I'm pretty sure half of Pittsburgh was begging for them to be benched and replaced by Streit and/or Ruhwedel (who I think is still hurt). I hope the Pens can roll again and win the cup in Nashville. I don't think my heart can take another game 7. Lets go Pens!

Fuck, another game 7 might kill me but it would be so sick to win the cup in Pittsburgh

Yawn.. Wait, hockey's still happening?

Even as a huge hockey fan this is way to late. After mid May it's been drug out too long.

Did like to see Crosby mucking it up though.

CITY OF CHAMPS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck that was stressful. Love that Hornqvist got the first goal. Subban's bitch face at the end was priceless. Wish we could have won in Pittsburgh but hey, back to back cups is so fucking badass.

crosby goat

Seriously though, he's gotta be top 5 all time, right?

13822440:.frenchy said:
for sure top 5 man, if not now then definitely by the end of his career

3rd cup and 2nd Conn Smythe definitely would put him in top 5 in my opinion. I think a 4th cup would put him top 2 or 3. I mean he's just turning 30. He dodges concussions, he can roll for a few more cups depending what magic Rutherford can work with contracts and the baby Pens. It's just hard to judge because I didn't really get to witness Mario or Gretzky in their prime (and obviously Orr). I've heard from multiple analysts that they've never seen someone able to affect the game on every single shift as much as sid.
