Dude the boot is so good. I've been on them a month or so and I'm really liking them.

Lets get drunk Matt! Stoked to see you buddy!

Unfortunately, I meant that the boots will be at SIA, I will not be. Hopefully I can make it next year!!

If anyone will be at ISPO, however, I will most assuredly be doing exactly that.

Any update to the Backland Carbon?

No changes, boot will be a carry over.

just go back to the Hawx 1.0 last...

The lasts between Hawx 1.0 and 2.0 are honestly 98% the same (Hawx 2.0 has 1mm more big toe room and 0.8mm more navicular room- all other last dimensions are the same). We will have an completely new liner construction for the entire Hawx (100mm fit) range to put it back on top of the fit podium. I promise you it will be a very noticeable and positive fit improvement.

I'll be there, and I'll probably be talking/busy, but definitely drop by and say hi.

86/96/106. They appear to really like the Kartel.

cant blame them...really popular skis, makes sense to try to compete a little more with them.

Y it no cantology compatable?

Why would you want it to be? Soft vibram soles and canting don't really go together. As a fitter I honestly see so few people who would benefit from canting I really don't think it's somthing to worry about. Also if you use tech bindings it would have zero affect anyway. If people want it though a decent fitter can make some plates, I do it a few times a year at most.

I believe I saw a picture of a new Oakley goggle? Not 100% certain, but it looked fairly different from the current models

With swappable soles in an alpine boot ( still not that competitive weight wise) it would make a lot of sense since it is still designed to work with alpine bindings.

Doesn't make a lot of sense not to when it is an easy mod, and you consider that many of the competitors will be cantology compatible (and lighter).

If you use the din soles then yeah it could be useful but honestly I just see so few people who benifit from it I really don't see it as an issue.

I believe its the ARV. They are making it in the 3 waste widths, like they do with the invictus series.

Cool idea... But goddamnit those graphics look stupid. Very Feminine, hopefully it's just the lighting...

I definitely agree they could have done a lot better on the graphic.

Pretty sure that isnt the graphic they are just showing the construction of the skis, that being said holy tip spacers those things are huge.

asymmetrical skis are nothing really new, while not NS first stop when it comes to looking for skis, Elan have been doing it for years in most of their line. Any idea if theyve done it with an asymmetric rocker like they do with elans?

Noob question...what is an asymmetrical side cut compared to a regular one?

13601025:cobra_commander said:
Different side cut on inside and outside edge

Thats pretty cool...how does a ski like that ride? What skis use that on the market right now.

Also I assume this would be more for a freeride type ski since edge wear would be off in a park/all mountain ski.

most non kids/budget skis in the elan line use an asymmetric profile, they call it the amphibio systemhttp://www.elanskis.com/us/home.html as with all "piste rocker"'s etc it has little effect on how they ski when the difference in sidecut/rocker is small but you get the benefits they talk about like easier turn initiation and improved edge grip in turns, when the difference between left and right is more prominent
