That race was nuts! Dude fell and then climbed the final hill past everyone to win gold.

Finally got to see all of the snowboard slopestyle final. The judging is weird. No idea what they were looking for in runs.

I'd like to see Canada sweep men's moguls, but I kind of feel obligated to cheer for the Swedish guy with the amazing beard.

I know boots are boots but its funny to see some of the mogul guys rockin B & E full tilts. I think I'm gonna get a pair of Heart 140s for next year!

kate hansen what a dumbass. try to make a name for yourself doing yoga pant warmup dance and then be a major failure at your sport. wtf is luge anyways, professional sledding?

I doubt she dances as a warm up to make a name for herself. Seems much more likely that she does it because it 1. gets her warmed up and 2. helps her relax and stay loose before a race.

Failure to her sport? She made the Olympics, hardly a "failure."

No, luge is not "professional sledding" they're going 80 mph with nothing but a tiny sled between them and walls of ice. I highly doubt there are many members on NS who'd have the balls to do something like that.

In conclusion: you're, like, way too upset about this.

hahaha now USA is really getting screwed in this game.....(womens hockey vs Canada)

Canada had 8 hoes on the ice..

then a BS call on USA that led to a PP goal

then the whistle blows before the puck goes in and it still counts.

I missed the part with 8 players on the ice, if that happened, but that's OK so long as they don't play the puck.

The call wasn't BS at all. It was perfectly in line with the other calls that were made. She pushed her foot out from under her with her stick, thus tripping. That even would have been called in men's hockey.

Whistle? I didn't hear a whistle. The goalie never had the puck and it was a perfectly good goal.

all I'm seeing is total 3rd period domination by Canada. Shots are 10-0 and we've been in the attacking end 3/4 of the time.

That's not true, unless they were all within a few feet of the bench but I'm not watching the game so I'm not sure if that was the case or not...

Even if you don't play the puck you can't have 8 players on the ice, playing the puck isn't a requirement for hte penalty - at least in the NHL

well yea. It's a change. have an extra person doing a change and you don't play the puck and that's never a penalty.

on that one they would have been fine, but the player getting off played the puck just as she was getting off the ice when the other player had already jumped on.

good game though. well done Canada.

Here. Straight from IIHF rules:

Players may be changed at any time from the players' bench, provided that the changing players shall be within an imaginary area limited by the length of the respective players' bench and three (3) meters from the boards and out of play before any change is made.

If, in the course of making a substitution, either player deliberately plays the puck while the retiring player is still on the playing surface, the infraction "Too Many Players" shall be assessed. If, in the course of a substitution, either player is accidentally struck with the puck, the play shall not be stopped and no penalty shall be assessed.

So yea. You can have 8 players on the ice so long as you don't play the puck and they're on a change and within 10 feet of the bench.
