I don't give a fuck if its early. Im excited and want to claim the thread. You all know I'm a Pats fan, and so i'll go ahead and stir the pot, seeing as how I do nothing but sit around and read Mike Reiss blog entries.

The Patriots are stacked. I can see upside for miles from here. Our draft picks look straight ridiculous. Our wide receiver core might finally complement our beastly TE party (yo soy fiesta indeed Gronk). We might have a secondary without more holes in it than a pasta strainer. Hopefully we can get at the QB a little bit. And hopefully we don't miss Matt Light too much.

Care to discuss any of your home teams' minicamp, trades, or draft picks?

The season starts wednesday September 5th at 830p with the cowboys at the giants...and then the season starts in earnest Sunday September 9th with all the other games.

Once the season starts, I expect this thread to be 100+ pages by the postseason.

49ers are going to win it. They now have LaMichael James from Oregon. It's going to be a good season

I've never paid attention to the NFL much, but I'm starting HS football this year and I already started working out so I need to learn the game a bit. I figure this is a pretty good way to do so. What should I be paying attention to?

BRONCOS WILL BE IN THE NEXT SUPERBOWL! GUARANFUCKENTEE IT, WHAT"S GOOOD PEYTON MANNING AND COLORADO, FIRE IT UP BIATCHEZZZZ!

now drink up hahaha

My Dallas Cowboys are all over it this year, with the best defensive player in football Demarcus Ware heading for the sack title. Tony (no homo) Romo can lead us to the promised land!

...Hopefully the Raiders might actually make the playoffs - if they get a healthy season this time around. Maybe make a few signings to improve the secondary. The offense should still be good though - the offensive line is going to be pretty solid.

YOU SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH!!!!

Just give the pats two more years, and they will be back to where they belong... at the bottom.

A quick search has confirmed this is the second of such threads. As I want to claim the multipager, and the other thread only had like 5 replies, we will continue using this one from here on out.

One cannot deny that the Patriots have been one of the top dogs in the NFL the past several years.

Colts vs. Bears: Bears 21-10- This will simply be too tough of a debut for Andrew Luck. Chicago has all the pieces in place on offense, defense, and special teams to be a legitimate contender this season. Add that and the addition of Cutlers best friend Brandon Marshall and they'll be a really good team. Im a Broncos fan so I know what those two can do together.

Eagles vs. Browns: Browns 17-14- Im calling this as my first upset because I really like what the Browns did during the offseason with the additions of Trent Richardson and Im not yet sold on the Eagles after last season despite the what seems to be good work during the offseason.
Rams vs. Lions: Lions 27-14- Detroit has been flying under the radar thus far and I think that they are the second best team in their division behind the Packers and in front of the Bears. Rams have who I think is a good QB in Bradford but he has no receivers to pass to, especially since Brandon Lloyd left the team.
Patriots vs. Titans: Pats 35-24- This will be a shoot out because both teams aren't necessarily superior on defense, but Tom Brady has a stacked offense from bottom to top. The only thing I question is their running game but that ultimately wont matter because the Titans D wont be able to stop the Pats. I would love to be wrong on this pick because I hate the Pats, but there is no denying their good.
Falcons vs. Chiefs: Falcons 24-17- KC is playing without Tamba Hali and the Falcons (one of the best passing attacks in the league) will take note of that. Matt Ryan wont feel any pressure and will pick apart the Chiefs secondary because of it. I also think that Tony Gonzalez will have a big game because we all know that he loves to play in ArrowHead.
Jaguars vs. Vikings: Jags 14-10- Who honestly cares?
Redskins vs. Saints: Saints 34-21- Now as much as I like RGIII and Mike Shanahan, the Saints are going to be riding the high of the recent appeal that declared the players involved in the bounty gate scandal as innocent. And oh yeah, the Saints also have a guy named Drew Brees.
Bills vs. Jets: Bills 17-7- Tebow is now New Yorks problem and the Bills absolutely destroyed him last year so I expect the same this year no matter what position he's playing. The Jets offense is complete garbage and we say this in the preseason. Fitzpatrick and the Bills on the other hand look like they'll be the Pats top competition this year in that division.
Dolphins vs. Texans: Texans 31-10- Not much needs to be said here. I mean you have the Texans, one of the best in the league, playing the Dolphins, one of the worst.
49'ers vs. Packers: Packers 24-10- I was not impressed with the 49'ers during the preseason, especially when they played the Broncos starters and got crushed. I expect the defense to hold their own, but they ultimately will get gassed out by the Packers offense who will dominate in time of possession during the game.
Seahawks vs. Cardinals: Seahawks 17-10- Im on the Russel Wilson for ROY bandwagon and Cards suck IMO. I also love Lynch cause he goes beast mode. How could any football fan with the exception of the Saints fan base not like that guy?
Panthers vs. Buccaneers: Bucs 21-13- Cam Newton looked sluggish during the preseason and the Bucs loaded up on offensive weapons. Their rookie RB Doug Martin from Boise State is a beast and was named the starter in front of Blunt who was a good owe back in my eyes. The game really depends on how Josh Freeman shows up to play. If he plays to his potential than its the Bucs to loose.
Broncos vs. Steelers: Broncos 27-13- Peyton Manning and the Broncos will win by double digits for many reasons. rumor has it that James Harrison will sit out the game due to injury and safety Ryan Clark is officially sitting out the game due to a blood disorder. Theres that and the fact that Mendenhall and Redmen are sitting out due to injury and the fact that Big Ben will be playing with an injury. To simply put it, the Broncos are going to pound them.
Bengals vs. Ravens: Ravens 23-21- This one could really go either way and I would not be surprised if the Bengals win, but I gotta take Ray Rice and the Ravens D at the end of the day.
Chargers vs. Raiders: Raiders 17-10- Phiilip Rivers lost a lot of offensive talent during the off season and the Raiders currently have a healthy DMC. If Run DMC is his usual self and if doesn't get injured, which could very well happen knowing how prone he is to injury, than the Raiders will come out on top.
Go Broncos!

RG3 is simply vicious right now. Also bills fans it looks like the disappointment that comes every season is extra early this year.

How many did Weeden have? oh. What was the final score? oh. Does the nfl have coaches polls and take into consideration point differentials, and "quality of wins"? They don't? Oh.

1-0....ugly as it was, we'll take it and gladly, a road win is always big. Now I'll hope that the Ravens overlook the birds and we whoop that ass at home.

came through in the clutch though.

vikings clutched it up rookie kicker blair walsh is getting laid as we speak.

nice to start off 1 - 0 no matter how ugly and chirstian ponder played really well.

Vikes Lions and Bears all 1 - 0 .... pack playing the niners...I think I can speak for all the bears, lions vikings fans in saying go niners!

They were the definition of sloppy, that's for sure.

Part of that definitely stems from Vick playing 12 snaps through the whole preseason, the other issue is that last year we had the highest graded LT in football, and after he ruptured his achilles in OTA's, we brought in another guy who was beat out by our backup. Line play was atrocious, particularly in pass protection, and Vick was in happy feet mode and seemed to struggle progressing through his reads and forced way too many throws.

Officiating was not awful, but not great, the Eagles had two huge gains wiped out by phantom holding penalties (Maclin and Mathis), and then committed egregious fouls on other big plays. The Browns defense was surprisingly fast and physical I thought and did a great job locking down the middle and making plays laterally in space. They followed the blueprint for containing Vick put together two years ago by the Packers in the WC playoff game—blitz from different spots and do it relentlessly.

On the positive for the Birds:

The defense looked incredible. Didn't give up a TD, and literally every point the Browns scored was the direct result of a short field after 1 of 5 Eagle's turnovers. They had a short field several times and they held the Browns to FG's. A few blown coverages where Weeden made terrible throws, but still, Ryans at MLB and Coleman at S both balled the fuck out (even if Coleman got trucked)), as did DRC at CB. Really looking like the Wide 9 is starting to gel, and that Washburn and Castillo have figured out how to make the wide front work. Really excited about the rookie OLB Kendricks. If there's a faster LB in pursuit in the league, I haven't seen him.

Lastly, McCoy looks fucking incredible. He had only 7....fucking 7! carries in the 1st half, and still finished with over 100 on the ground. The guy is the real deal and is probably better than Westbrook at his pinnacle and reminds me an awful lot of Marshall Faulk. If Andy will pull his head out of his ass and feeds him the rock, should be a good year. Mixing in downfield throws and PA along with some zone and off tackle running with occasional screens and swings to the flat could make the Birds the most balanced offense in the league. Going to have to sure up the line and the playcalling and hope Vick can cut out the TO's, otherwise, they look dangerous.
