not post worthy :)

other then knocking him off balance, it was weak. Maybe even hand to helmet? Didnt even stun Adams, he was still grippin up the jersey as they fell.

yaaaaa leafs have won two straight. they're clearly the best team in the nhl right now

..........................

lol fuckin canlan ice sports right? i live 2 seconds away from there in the summer. we used to see him all the time at emma's back porch

nucks got fuckin raped, had the game on during my party last night and just kept laughing at the score

haha, met gagner and subban at emma's this summer.

Majors > all in the OHL. probably working the Mem Cup for them.

Hey we'll take it, really didn't look like we were gonna come out on top of that one. Is it wrong that I made up a batch of poutine in honor of that game last night???

Felt good to sneak in a win on the caps and habs after a couple tough losses in the last few games. I still don't think the flyers are lookin great but we've definitely got something going on here.

I could care less about carcillo being injured, don't think he brings a lot to the table besides fighting. I would like to see bobro back in though over boucher.

tru tru, i just remember seeing him and johnny t and a bunch of other guys training in the parking lot at canlan one summer so i thought that was where they trained

Anyone see Shelleys "ugly" goal last night?

Hahahaha guys got the mug of a champion on the shot after his goal.

UGH two shoot out losses in a row, ah well at least they weren't blowouts and we still take a point from it. What a holiday weekend that was.

Wild game was fun to watch though.

I don't... when the Leafs are good... everyone decides that their family hails from Ontario, and that they've been a leafs fan their entire life and have never given up on the team blah blah... and then they go on badmouthing everyone because SURELY this is the season they win the cup again.
I LOL at their failures still... that organization has no business sucking so badly...
On paper, they have a really solid defense, a good goalie, and some pretty nice offensive players here and there... young guys like Kessel and Versteeg... and Grabovski's starting to come into his mold too...
They do have more defense than offense though... They should just swallow pride and trade Kaberle for what hes worth... even without him they still have a solid top line pairing...

I don't even know who we're playing tonight but friends are coming over, chili is in the crock pot already heating, and beers are in the fridge chilling.

Looking for a W after a couple tough overtime losses.

On a different note, I was never much of a hockey fan growing up, but lately(last three years) we've been watching more and more flyers games. Even went to a game last year and we're going to another in january when we play the caps. Now it's come time to actually see what it's like to play the game. I bought skates last year and am looking to gear up even more this winter, possibly with some goalie pads too. My buddy has a pond in his front yard that he just increased the dam height on and the pond filled up very nicely, probably not the best idea as a renter but who gives a shit. This winter there will be pond hockey for the first time in my life and I can't fuckin wait. Any of you canuckistan folks got any tips for me?? I guess advice could be given by some americans as well but lets be serious here, we all know the good hockey players come from up north :)

I don't know, I've probably played 10 minutes of hockey throughout my whole life. Just looking for little tips that might help me have some skill right off the bat. Or possibly some advice on what gear is really needed and what I can do without. Of course we're gonna have fun and I'm sure drinking will be involved so first off I'm thinking a mouth guard and a cup and I sure as hell ain't talkin about lord stanleys.

I'm not a bad skater due to many many years of rollerblading, but I'm sure there has got to be some little intricacies involved in skating during hockey.

Get wasted. Play like a champion.
That's the best advice I can give you - mostly because that shit's the most fun haha.

That's pretty much my approach to all of life anyway so that should work.

Just checked and it looks like we got our first meeting with the bruins tonight, should be a good game.

if you're just playing with a bunch of friends. gloves, helmet, stick is all you need. if you're looking to pummel each other, you might want a cage or visor (especially for flying pucks)

skates, gloves, helmet (only because you're just starting out), stick. and have fun. don't follow the puck around and find open ice. if you are forechecking, trail the person with the puck if you can't be up with them. poke checking is the name of the game with outdoor, and it puts you in a good position to pick it up. the ice surface won't be smooth, so when they throw the puck in front from the corner, chances are its gonna bounce over some sticks so stand just have to the side of the net opposite to which ever corner the puck is in, so right corner, off to the left. vice versa.

and when you're skating don't bail hay with your stick. in such a tight area its dangerous. pretend like you're those kids in karate class who just stand there and pump and rotate their fists, thats how you should be skating when you're back or fore checking. there really isn't much i can say. its just outdoor pick up. just watch the good players and see what they do.

Thanks man, I'm thinking I might be looking for a cheap option for a goalie mask as I'm afraid to ask what a proper one costs. I mean, I've got a motorcycle helmet. Probably just gonna go cragslist or ebay though.

so hang on, you wanna be goalie? cus that means all of getfighted's advice means nothing to you lol, unless you wanna be a toe-dragging, cellying goalie, which would be pretty jks actually

usually when you're playing pond puck you dont need alot of equipment, just the bare essentials (skates, stick) but since you wanna be goalie, even though you're playing pond with your buddies you're probably gonna want an almost complete kit, cus in the end, you're still putting yourself in front of a flying piece of hard rubber

but ya my only advice is, have a good fuckin time, and practice skating as much as you can, because its only gonna get more fun the better you get. and a lot of ppl think "oh im not a good skater so i'll play goalie" well thats probably the stupidest thing to say because goalies actually need to be really good on their skates
