Official 2010/2011 NHL Thread

I feel that the idea behind it is exactly what you speak of, but sometimes I feel it doesn't always go to the most deserving player.
How Claude Lemieux won it in 95 sorta confuses me, I guess. lol. There's a few other question marks on that list to me as well.
A lot of the time it does actually reflect the deserving player, however so I can understand your opinion fully.

game 6 won't be a shutout lol.. why would you make an assumption like that. Luongo has 2 shutouts in which the bruins played poorly. He has also given up 8 goals in a single game, he's good but he's not that good.

example of Luo blowing it. Game 4 - Bruins up 1-0 and a routine glove save for Lou goes right into the net, giving the B's a 2-0 lead. That was some poor goal tending IMO.

I'm saying even if it was a shutout, it wouldn't matter, he still wouldn't be in the running, which is silly if you shut out 3/4 of the finals. The Bruins had tons of scoring chances in games 1 and 5, he was the first star of those games for a reason.

its based on the season, I see nothing wrong with that. In this case it wouldn't apply to Luongos finals appearance anyway... A goalie who doesn't have a post season can win it. It's not silly at all imo.

Maybe I am reading your last post wrong, but if I am right then you just said that the Conn Smythe was based on the season so you have temoporarily lost all validity in this thread.

letss go canucks

i agree, but lets say i won the cup, then on top of that i won the con smythe or whatever, i would value that trophy as much, if not more, than the cup. cus winning the cup is a team effort while getting individual recognition just shows youre a boss

Got to say I'm excited to see Tanev play again, so smooth and calm when in possession.

He's going to be a real solid defender and I wouldn't be surprised to see him crack the top 6 next year.

So today was the longest day at work ever, so pumped for tonight.

As much as i would love to see us win at home, i just want them to win tonight, would rather not have a game 7 where anything can happen.

Go Canucks Go

yea i hear ya. school was a bitch. anything can happen and everyoen knows that.

2 games to win isnt a lot at all. and since the games in vancouver have been close those seem to be whoever gets the puck in the net late wins. boston has been a blowout. but ya never know. its the stanley cup playoffs. shit happens. may the best team win

go b's go!

May the best team win indeed. Tonight will be a battle. I expect a lot of physical play and a fast start. LETS GO BRUINS. BELIEVE IN BOSTON

good luck getting a spot in a bar anywhere in the lower mainland right now. seriously, every bar downtown was 100% full by 2pm. Insane.

hoping the B's can slide a few past LuOCHO tonight. i want to see a game seven. it ain't a series until someone wins a road game.
