Official 2010/2011 NHL Thread

Well you prob shouldnt go to the game tomorrow night because the bruins are gunna win that and then come back to boston on Monday and win the cup. If you go to a stadium that is not urs expect to get heckled, its merica....

that's hilarious. i was ashamed when watching my sharks, i witnessed multiple green-suit-guy knockoff attempts. so lame.

cheapest tickets for game 6 are over $1,000....still nothing compared to vancouver, thats why there were 3-4 thousand vanc fans at game 4, the tickets are so expensive in vancouver its cheaper for a lot of fans to fly to boston, shack up, and buy tix down here...its absolutely crazy the kind of money these games pull down...which i could afford a tick lol

Vancouver needed to start luongo tonight, you cant turn your back on your vezina trophy finalist goalie after he brought you this fat..plus if vigneault went with schneider and they lost, people would most likely be calling for his head because he decided not to play one of the best goalies in the league in a pivotal game 5..theres really no choice for vancouver but to play luongo and hope he responds strongly at home

I think that Tim Thomas is the best goalie. It's idiotic to think anything else right now. It doesn't matter which team you're pulling for, give Thomas credit. He has been a wall in the last two games.

something tells me march-mont may be a target tonight for the nucks. i guess when he left game 4 he pissed off the nucks bench by "wiping his hands in an exaggerated fashion - not a taunt with which the canucks found much pleasure" after leveling 2 of their players. at least 5'9 marchand has 6ft+ guys like mcquaid, chara and sidenburg to back him up.
oh well. he's our (very skilled) asshole. give em hell tonight boys.

he's fucking unbelievable. he gives it hell every time he steps on the ice. and that skate fake on the shorthanded goal on luongo was so sick.

that's the best part....he's so fucking good, and that often gets overshadowed by him being a "pest." that, and he's a rookie, so he's just gonna get better the more he plays. i'm stoked to keep watching him

me too, such a young dude and he's sick. plus yeah he's that little rat-looking kid that pisses fucking everyone off archetype, can only imagine how much id dislike him if he was on the opposing team haha

Of course Luongo is starting tonight - he's our guy, he's got us to the Stanley Cup Finals with some very impressive games, and if we win it or lose it it'll be with him in net.

Predictions for tonight's game and the rest of the series:

1) Whoever wins tonight wins it all.

2) Tonight will be a tight, low scoring game with neither team scoring more than 3 goals

3) Sedins will each record 1 or 2 points tonight as we get to dictate match ups more at home

4) Kesler's groin will continue to keep him, and unfortunately that line MIA

Finally, because I'm yet to see it mentioned really any where in the media.

Are you Bruins fans aware your team is as questionable/dirty as the Canucks?

Savard has TWO biting incidents in his career with one stemming from him slashing a goalie, Chara's hit was as bad as Rome's, and I could go on and on.

Give it up, concentrate on the hockey and hopefully the rest of the series both teams play some good hockey and give up the nonsense.

Finally, respect to Thomas cause he's a nutter and is helping the NHL gain popularity. Reminds me a lot of Ron Hextall who is a classic.

GO CANUCKS!!!!!!!!

hmm yeah i think i worded that wrong, i didnt mean to say it as if i was under the impression that luongo wasn't starting

i should have said, "in regards to the speculation about whether luongo gets pulled or not...."

anyway... gonna be such a sick game tonight. Bs have been pounding but there's definitely gonna be a big change, back in vancouver and there's no way the canucks are gonna be playing like they did the past 2 games..bet they come out pretty hard

As Canucks fans are feeling pretty unsure about their team, I feel pretty good about mine. You guys are going down and the first goal scored on Luongo will be your downfall.

This thread has gotten too nice

yea the guys son is on the bruins. BUT! he hasnt had a say in anything in the playoffs and during the regular season he doesnt rule on things that would affect the bruins so its not biased. so theres no worry there

missed calls have gone both ways though. so theres no need for any one to complain (im not saying you are for the record)

its a brand new bets of 3 series lets see who can make what of it. tonigth will be close but i say 3-1 bruins just cause they have momentum and they've figured out how to beat the defense and stop the offense of the nucks

not to mention hes only 19, drafted in only 2010 and how far ahead he is of the pack, so yeah he is winning rookie of the year.

not that duster marchand

I'm not going to bother arguing points 1-4 besides saying that you are giving way too much credit to last change.

You are comparing the canucks dirtiness in the last 4 games to the bruins over the span of marc savards career. Does that seem flawed to you. We all like to turn a blind eye but really.

Yeah... at least most bruins fans will admit that Savard has a tendency to play dirty as opposed to canucks fans who just deny it and find excuses. And Savard also pays the price for pissing off the other team and the refs, he get's hit big and concussed on a regular basis and rarely gets any call to go his way. And stfu about the chara hit dude, nobody's mentioned the rome hit in a while so theres no reason to bring it up again. OF COURSE the chara hit is worst in YOUR opinion, Rome plays for vancouver, therefore your opinion is subject to extreme amounts of bias, it's the same with bruins fans and the Chara hit. The only way to get an objective point of view is to find out what other hockey fans think, and also what the league thinks (that being said both of those sway towards the Rome hit being worse).

exactly this. i've mentioned several times how dirty marchand plays. i know, every bruins fan knows it, every vanc fan knows it, we're not trying to cover it up. he hops the boards for a line change and immediately starts slashing one of the sedin's. he clotheslines another canuck. he snows luongo at every opportunity. we know he's dirty, but that's our brand of hockey.

cool..... but recchi is and always will be a GREAT player. he plays hard and if u think no one on the nucks has been slashing or cross checking or anything then u r 1 biased/ angry person

Winner of this game takes the cup. Lets go boys.

In other news, EA Sports is fucking creepy and their employees should start hitting SportsAction bigtime:

^^ how do you miss an identical video post 3 above yours?
And for this game I am scared, and it's 100% due to one man: Tim Thomas. Nails will be bitten

Good to see the Sedins trying to play a little more physical. Gotta stop taking these penalties though, seems like interference & hooking calls are the Sedins' niche.
Great speed back and forth too.
