i had mad short skis last year and im a great skier out of the park in general but pretty new to the park so thats why i was thinking about a smaller size

Get the 182s, I'm 5"9 and I got the 179 2012s and really don't feel that much of a difference in a longer ski, if anything it will make you a stronger skier.
