getting some pow turns:

so im going up over new years and am gonna ride in the rail jam new years eve. whats it gonna be like? i havent rode any contests up there. pretty legit?

Word on the slope is that there will be some gypsies there, skiing with 3d glasses, tight pants, and dreamcatchers.

I've tried to track down features and what their idea will be for this year, but no luck. Thankfully, Billy Biolo is on park crew this year, and he knows what people want to hit.

well i was talking to billy a few days ago and he said something about a down rail (30 ft) urban on, a-frame box, and another box feature but idk he seemed a bit out of it so nothing official

Seriously. The park crew is going to need some time to coax the features out of hiding after that slayage.

Stoked for pow, and then the rail jam.

rail jam was super fun. until i died. sorry for holding things up. that was definately and still is the worst pain of my life. everyone was killing it like crazy though. who won?

yeah dude that was rough. what's the diagnosis?

the rail jam was ridiculous. everyone was throwing down. Alex Adams took home first. so many ridiculous tricks were thrown.

not sure yet. might have cracked the kneecap or torn something. im just chilling on my couch now and im heading to the hospital tomorow to get it checked out. all i know right now is that it hurts more than anything haha. im in for a rough night

I'm pretty sure that I saw Alex flying home on a dragon, but I'm not sure. In any case, he killed it, and totally deserved the win. Stoked for you, buddy.

Props to everyone who came out, it was by far the sickest jam I've been to, and I've been to them all.

My first competition at a mountain, it definatly didnt dissapoint. There were some crazy stuff thrown, all in all a great end to the year. I had fun in whitefish, hopefully i can come back for next new years break.

dude, are you alright bro? I was just thinking I should have come down to see how you were doing. Hopefully you just bruised your knee or something, knee pain can be gnarly. Props for coming down to jib, I didnt get a chance to meet you.

Yea that rail jam was super cool, did you guys see how many people were there? it seemed like so damn many. Judging was good too

im thinking i just bruised it. i can walk a little on it now and its feeling so much better. i think i really lucked out. so hopefully it continues to feel better.

The rail jam was super fun, everyone was throwin down really hard. Definitely the best setup they've had.
^Jeremy, hope your injury isn't too bad.

Today was super sick.

Dude most of the tourists are super cool. Alot of them are from Canada, and are chill too. You just got to talk to them and you might meet a new friend.

funniest tourist interaction i've had this year was "i'm lovin all the snow but i could do without the fog." and then i said, "yup, welcome to big mountain." and then they got very confused and i had to explain that fog is pretty much expected daily. i think he questioned his decision to come out without knowing that is is usually foggy.

Today was so sick. There was a bunch of pow and a lot of fun jibs in the trees. First Canyon trip for me also.

Sick pics Dave!

I'm heading back to Bozeman today. Had a great couple weeks of shredding at Big Mountain. Capped it off yesterday with an amazing pow day. Woo hoo!

Today was so damn sick up there. No crowds, no fog. Unfortunately there wasn't much pow either, but it was an awesome jibspo/momentum/go really fast type of day. Very very fun.

The park also has some new features up, some of them are kind of cool.

Today was my last day on the Big and it has been such a dope christmas break.

Today was so much fun, the lifties at the bottom of the backside built a lil booter and we seshed that for awhile.

Ok this is just my OPINION but the new park features blow granted theres a few good and the jumps seem to have gotten smaller with less pop im gonna stop complaining and go find some powder

you baby. stop wining...

joking haha i didnt even go in the park today. i hope it gets softer soon because its really cold and firm out.

Pictures from the park a couple days ago

Yep the moved it down and made it a launch. Looked fun but there's kinda of a drop onto it haven't seen anyone hit it smoothly yet.

Dude the lip onto the down rail is insane; it's even more of a kicker than in the rail jam. Sometimes I don't understand what they are thinking.
^The black tube is kind of fun where it is now. It is an up rail, and you have to gap a little to make the tranny (which is kind of flat), but it is still decent.

Bottom of main jib line and the depot park jibs in the back ground

Main line jib section

Another angle, there is a cbox now at the end of the main line too on the hillside which is really fun if you can get enough speed for it

There is some powder accumulating now, and it was snowing all day.

gonna "open" Monday highly unlikely but you never know landing seems kinda short and the jump needs more pop

Big jumps open? How does it compare to the big hit last year? How is the rest of the mountain doing? I need to voyage over there soon.

yo, thinkin bout taking a trip up to Big Mtn with ToySolider Productions to shoot on the big jump. can anyone post pics of it and leave some thoughts on it. kinda wanna make sure its worth the trip from Bozeman. thanks!

http://www.skiwhitefish.com/shot_of_the_day.php

picture 1/28/10 shows a good shot of it.

I have yet to hit it cause i am stuck in helena, but if it is like last years it is super fun and floaty. You should tell me if you guys are headed back there anytime soon cause i would love to come and watch you guys film. That trailer is so dope well done man.

If it were up to me, I would wait another week or two unless you really want to come down here. I forgot to get a pic of the big jump. They are going to build another booter on the table, hopefully soon. I think they are gonna make it a shorter jump, maybe it will be a bit loftier. As of now, you have to haul as much ass as you can , so its a pretty high speed jump, alot like it was last year.

As far as the rest of the jibs go, I got some pics. The park is nice and jibby right now which is good with all this hardpack hah

The last two features on the run which are fun and jibby, kind of hard to get enough speed to really jib the c-box though :\

IMG_1109.jpg

Down flat rail and the barrel jibs/stalls which they need to just open up and let people figure em out.

IMG_1108.jpg

Down rail which has a pretty good urban take off surprisingly.

IMG_1110.jpg

The down flat box, THIS THING IS SICK, its kind of scary at first cause you cant really see the box until you are right up on it, but you just got to go for it. Its a really trickable box and the down section is nice and mellow. There is a gap to barrel jib in the foreground which is kinda lame, they need to stand the barrel up imo.

IMG_1113.jpg

Rainbow Rail and the flatbox and flat rail at the top of the line.

IMG_1114.jpg

The Wallride is setup too, i forgot to get a pic of that. Its actually pretty sick.

The main 3 jumpline is missing the 2nd jump atm(they are redoing it, hopefully done this week) and the third jump is pretty good, you just have to mach at it. The first jump is nice and smooth
