I am planing to build a 12 ft long flat rail from plastic pipeing and two by fours and a mellow 15 ft flat down box with 5ft flas to 10ft down. post design pics soon.
these pics are both really old, but both that rollercoaster rail and that box were made for 0$.
rollercoaster rail was made from parts from a slide that was stolen and the box is just 2x4s from contruction sites and topsheet from a hottub factory.
how do you make a rollar coaster? they look really sik and not that hard to build...but whats the material you use to slide the bends like that, from pics it seems like plastic or lexon, what is it?
just kind of cut small pieces of wood so they make the general shape of the rollercoaster, pvc smooths it out, this rail works well for snowskating, but is probably to small and the material is too soft for skiing
dude boxes would be sick in the summer because you can always do basically the same thing as on a rail, but its easier to learn on and you can do butters.
i was thinking of making like a 15ft. long box by 2 ft. wide, and coating it with lexon or HDPE, should i use coping on the sides? how do you apply coping?
mk, first if your gonna build a box that long, just go with 16ft cause thats a lenght of 2x4 they sell at hardwarestores, next use a top sheet of whatevers readially available, i'm gonna use pvc sheeting available at www.usplastics.com, then take a pvc 90 degree corner shape for the coaping on the edges so you ski's don't catch. and to top it all off i'm doing it for a school project, and i'm getting credit for it
yea i guess, the sheeting comes in 2'by4' sheets at varying thicknesses i would guestimate it to be no more than 100 bucks. expensive i know, prob not the best choice for a budget. wouldn't metal can get sticky tough what ev
