Offical Summer Set-up Thread!

thats way too complicated, just drill through the bottom with screws that have wide threads, and the threads will crimp the pvc to the wood

the lateral supports appear to be, the vertical load bearing ones are between the rail and the 2x4 the spoorts are sttached too

i am going to have a pretty sick setup of rails this summer:

-2 8.5 ft. flat rails

-8 ft. flat box gap to 8 ft. down box

-25 ft. down flat down kinked rail

does anybody live in CT and would want to get in on a rail session over the summer, i'm just checking to see how many people live close to glastonbury ct and would be interested

usually you can get cheap carpet at a home depot or whatnot, but i dont think you live in the us, so i guess find a place that is getting rid of alot of carpet

haha ur right about me not living in the us. But we got a lot of home depots or big shops for these kind of things. I've only never checked it. So ill hop threw soon

for those of us who don't have $ to buy materials to make a rail, or if you are absolutly clueless on how to use a hammer, here is what i have. I use a "kiddy" picnic table thats like 3ft off the ground, place that next to a trampoline. then on top of the table place a skateboard deck with no trucks or wheels on it. Then procede to jump on the trampoline and travel form the tramppoline landing on the skatedeck, the deck should slide like a rail. once you have this down you can start spinning 270's and such. Not the greatest, no real alternative than a real rail, but its fun.

i have a summer setup at a friends but summer setups aren't that great i don't think at least. my summer setup will consist of many urban rails and MT HOOD JEA

thats basically the reason summer setups exist, the people that have them have them because they dont have access to what you, and people like you do

wat i do right now and if you dont want to use skis is just cover a pvc pipe (big one) with dishsoap and water and jump on with shoes. I want to know EXACTLY how much astroturf or that stuff costs

no rush tho

this thread rocks! me and my friend are about to build a 12ft pvc straight rail, hope it works well. i got desperate and threw this together. ive improved it a bit so it actually works, but the metal pole is totally shot now

i seriously did that once. well we unscrewed it but w/e we didnt have a way to take it home so we threw it in soem nymo trails and tehn it got run over 1 too many times and snapped in half. it was like 10 ft flat, 5 ft down

are there any tricks to screwing it so that it dosen't chip or break or is PVC just that kind of stuff that dosn't break?
