OFFICAL: BOREAL near future outlook

Thanks to everyone who came out today and yesterday and had fun in spite of the lack luster conditions.

The rain last night and this morning really did a number on what little snow we had. As a result I couldn't put a snowcat on it tonight to repair any of the bomb holes. We MIGHT get a small 3-4 hour snowmaking window after 3am this morning. If we don't I won't be able to do any more grooming until much colder weather returns. We will do what we can as far as patching things together by hand but we might have to close later this week if the weather does not improve.

Thanks again to everyone for coming out, having fun and being patient as we do our best to get this season underway.

Tomorrow will mostly be the last day we are open until we get snowmaking temps again.

We pulled together every last bit of snow we could find to patch things up for tomorrow.

We re-set the jib line, added another flat box and the up/down rail plus fixed the run as best as we could. it's not as good as monday but WAY better than today was.

Pending a miracle cold snap tonight I can pretty much garrentte thursday is going to be it for awhile.

Thanks again to everyone for coming out and being patient given these horrible temps.

damnit! i have class tmo. so sad i cant hit those new features. o well, today was legit so its alright. thanx 4 the fun eric.

lol, I woulda been there tomorrow if I hadn't missed my flight.... I prob would have been there today and tuesday as well b/c as it turns out, I missed my flight by 2 days. How does one do this you ask? well if you want to learn the finer points of missing your points by multiple days and arguing with the check-in you can pm me, but I can't promise any results, I still had to pay for another ticket.

be back in your part of the country tomorrow, hopefully

Peace

Nice work Jason. I don't think I've ever heard of that one. I do hear, however, Colorado has open ski areas. Some things just happen for a reason.

Wow..... can't believe b real is still able to be open let alone have added features.... monday was way crowded so maybe tomorrow will the most epic!!!

the patch has been patched! I'll update later today if we are closing tomorrow. Looks like real good snowmaking sunday thru wed so we'll be back in business in no time!

Today was the best day yet. I can't believe the quality of the features given the conditions. You guys really did a great job with what you had to work with. Good job eric and park crew. Thanx.

we have to pull them other wise it will be POACHER FEST 2008. To many sue happy people these days, can't take the chance of someone getting wrecked...plus we have to preserve what little snow we have so when snowmaking resumes we can hit the ground running and get back open for real this time.

just looked at the webcam....depressing. this year has been too slow so far. we dont have any snow out here in co either. i was hoping to come home for some tahoe nasties but i guess not.

We are shooting to re-open tuesday.

Snowmaking forecast looks good starting monday going all the way to the weekend...but we all know how fast the forecasters can change the outlook!

We just finished moving around all of our gear to make best use of the east wind they are calling for with the cold front.

We also just good several demos of the York high efficentcy air/water guns...if they work as advertised we should get a 30% boost to our snowmaking output.

I am not thrilled with what is happening here...

looks like whatever small accumulation of snowfall we MIGHT have been getting today has dropped significantly.

and then it will be at least like 10 days before anything else comes into the pattern.

weaksause....

That september storm was ridiculous, if only we could have had it now. I remember driving through the pass to Reno when it was real bad thinking "what the hell? Its barely the end of summer"

It gave me high hopes for an early season but it didn't turn out that way. If all the snow we have is the Boreal patch by winter break I'll probably become an alcoholic. Props to you guys for giving us something to ski on with barely anything to work with.

haha this is how i feel. when ski season starts i don't really party.. but lately its been the only thing to do !

i hope it comes soon!!
