offical big mtn post

you guys need to actually take time on your park this year, last year was weak, and silvertip or whatever is a bad place for it, damn thing should be on the frontside and should have a pipe and lights. and needs a big booter

dont take life too seriously, you will never get out alive

instead of pointing out what i am trying to fix, i want you to call big mtn at 862-1900( you may need a area code, which is 406 if you cant remember)and complain to them about how much their park sucked last year. hey, have fun with it. pretend to be some rich person who would love to buy a condo at big mtn, but wont because their park is terrible. i am trying to talk to the right people to make some stuff happen, so give me some time

newschoolers.com: safe, clean fun for the entire family

by the way, that is exaclty the same thing i have been complaining about forever.

depending on my mood, you might get a nice thoughtful responce that might make sense, or you might get complete jibberish that is not wise to even read. good luck

i had a great day on the mtn. mother nature is definitly throwing down. we had about 3 inches overnight, with about 5 more accumulating during the day. it is pretty light snow, but can get you pretty wet, so dont bring your down jacket. it was snowing when i left the mtn at 4:15ish, so hopefully it still is. tomarrow should be epic if it is. oh, park update. they put in a barrel with the long side straight up and down in a large (5 foot) cone of snow today, to be hittable tomarrow. i talked to a park tech, and he said that they built a s-rail and a rainbow c-rail for the park this year, to be added to what we had last year. we will have a battleship box, and they will take donations, so build that feature you always have wanted to be in a park and give it to them. i will point out that the only thing up right now is the barrel cone thing, and maybe maybe a rail tomarrow. see you tomarrow!

so i went up today (12-5-04), and it was pretty sick. we had some snow overnight,a nd it snowed all day. if it snows all of tonight, i might just be sick from school tomarrow, as in dropping sick cliffs, skiing sick powder, and having a sick time. they didnt put up the rail last night, and the cone (a semi tranied cone of snow with a barrel in the top of it) never opened. look for some park stuff on saturday hopefully. see you on saturday or possibly tomarrow

I was up there all weekend. There was so much snow, oh my god, we hit up miguels drop in the canyon and it was great. Awesome weekend for sure!!

SITZEN

yeah, ive never been in the canyon. should go sometime. a little random tidbit: the christmas tree lights on my comp screen are really trippy

when i was 2 my parents put me on a pair of sticks.....i have been running wild ever since.

so i guess im goin to big mtn with the rents for winter break. never been there. what kinda park are you guys gonna have by christmas. and more importantly--i gotta know where the cliffs are, and any other hardcore backcountry style shit.

hey man^, dood big mountain is so huge. you are going to have a blast. The park is usually nothing to special, i think all they have now is one of those barrel cone jibs. i didnt even see it but i heard about it. It was snowing real hard when i left so there starting to get enough snow to start piling up tables. There are many natural hits though if you know where to find them.

How old are U? I'd be down to show you some shit when u get here. Im 21. I've been skiing there for about 10 years. Ill take you in some backcountry. I dont know to many great cliffs, unless there is about 2 ft of pow.

SITZEN

ususually they have stuff up by christmas, but the park gets its best in about february. they need to either switch the park to the frontside or make snowmaking possible on the backside, because i am starting to get frustrated

when i was 2 my parents put me on a pair of sticks.....i have been running wild ever since.

^^yeah man, im pretty stoked about this trip. im gonna be there christmas to new years. im 21 too, and me and my bro would be pumped if a local could show us where the real terrains at. is there any kinda bars or partyin to be had up there?

sik man, ill be up there for about a month over dec/jan. of course there are some bars and shit, but they can be rather dull. I usually just chill wit some friends in the area and party with them. It would be nice to get a party together with some ladies, hehe. but yea, ill def meet up wit u. do u blaze ganja??

it is raining hardcore here in kalispell, and i would expect it is snowing at big mtn. oh, and the park is open i heard, full report on saturday.

when i was 2 my parents put me on a pair of sticks.....i have been running wild ever since.

as you know, i am a stupid twit. this has been established, but was confermed when i believed one of the park workers when he talked about the s rail and c rainbow rail, which do not exist. however, there has been a large amount of children missing from fhs, explained by the 15 inches of snow we have now. we have a 53 inch base, a box, small table, and the double barrel rail in the park. we are off to a great start. i would skip tomarrow, but i have 2 tests so see you saturday

when i was 2 my parents put me on a pair of sticks.....i have been running wild ever since.

so i went today. it was pretty good, but it did start really slushy with rain, then it cleared off and the slush started freezing. then it puked for about 30 min, cleared again, and by the end of the day, everything was ice. however, they do have a park up now, which is where i spent most of my time today. they have the fat box from last year, set a little bit downward, a 10 ft single barrel, about 3 ft off the ground, and a 15 foot table. the cone/nipple is no more, and i have no idea where it went. this stuff is fun to play around on, and i did throw a 5 over the table today, so you can go kinda big over it because it has a nice long( and probably icy) landing. the snow we have is really hard to land switch in because it is really wet adn has a nice bit of crust on it. i did two 180s to punch backflip today, so watch your landings. also, they power went out to the mtn today, and they shut down for about 30 min, then started up again. hopefully this is fixed tomarrow, because i felt sorry for the people stuck on the lifts while they got the diesel running. see you tomarrow

when i was 2 my parents put me on a pair of sticks.....i have been running wild ever since.

the word for today was: ice. ice, ice baby ice! since it got cold, all yesterdays slush is now ice. going off the groomed was hazardous today, and until we get more snow or it warms up it will probably stay that way. this is nice to make the base solid, and really keep some rocks out of the way for the winter. there are a few bare spots left over from the melt, so be careful. the park is the same as yesterday, but unless they fix the box landing and clean up the divots, the thing will still be unhitable. for those looking for more airtime, hit the rail takeoff and land on the landing of the table right next to it. watch the landings though, because late in the day they were total ice, and take it from me, they hurt. see you saturday, but hopefully sooner

these conditions are soundin sketchy. i cant believe its fucken raining out there still. and concept, of course i blaze killa. we'll have to twist up a gotti when i get out to MT.

it was definitly sketchy, and no new snow today so not any better. it wont be good until we get some snow or it melts a bit

my report for today: i went up expecting it to be pretty bad, but we got about 2 inches over night, making almost everything fun (cliffs are really punchy in places). we went off the groomed a bit today, and it was pretty good, but there is definitly a crusty layer underneath the new snow. in the park department, we have the table side by side with the rail and box from last week, in addition to a step up and a flat-down picnic table thing. the stepup threw me all day, i think it was because the takeoff has a really quick tranny, and the landing is kinda wierd. once the snow got scraped off the picnic table thing, the peliglass rode really quick, so if you want to get tech on it( i saw a switch 270 on to 50/50 over the kink to 180 off, and a switch 270 to blindside switchup over the kink to fakie off, both from the same person), you have ot go slow, otherwise it goes really fast. both the landing of the box and the landing of the picnic table thing had large holes in them at about 1 today, so watch that as they will throw you off. see you tomarrow, and check the big mtn slopestyle comp post for a comp coming up

my report for today: today was pretty slushy at the base, with ice at the top. it appeared that in some places it had been groomed, then it rained,a nd then it froze to bulletproofness. i was still seeing courdoroy at the end of the day on moementum. no new park additions overnight, but the park director said that they will probably have the battleship box in by the weekend, which should make for some interesting possiblilies. be sure to check the features out before you hit them, they left a big hole in the landingof the picnic tables this morning, and the takeoffs werent even touched until the park crew raked them. teh rollers on over the hill gang were fun as ususual, but the landing needs some more snow as you can see brown through the snow. there will be an influx of crazed school children starting on thursday, as thats when christmas vacation starts. see you then

what about all the natural hits, grey wolf and so on, how are they holding up

dont take life too seriously, you will never get out alive

Yes, i sessioned the park a bit this weekend and it wasn't too bad. Tables were really hard, and i didnt really touch those. The box, rail and picnic table jib are nice and smooth though.

The gray wolf table is pretty used up. I didnt hit it at all this weekend. We did build up that little hit right by the grey wolf table that goes back onto the run. We returned later to see it pretty much destroyed by ski patrol, but it was still hittable.

Alot of the natural hits are pretty haggard right now and have no real lip to them.

SITZEN

it does. we need snow.

binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?

hey! we got it! and since it snowed like 4 inches in town today, i am skipping tomarrow to go up. tomarrow is the last day of school before christmas break to boot, but i wont have any days to go skiing and skip second semester, so i thought i would get it out of the way. see you up there

binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?

this is your stage: you can use it to its fullest, waste your opportunity, or show us how stupid you can act. what will you choose?

todays report: it was really fun in the morning, with about 3 inches of fluff on top of the hardpack, you could go really fast and make huge contrails. they added a rail to the park, the double barrel from last year. it is really smooth, but the lip has a little pop to it right at the end, so watch that. i will be up tomarrow, and hopefully we will get more snow. i will mention that it was really cold today, like 10 degrees up there, so bring your neck gaitor and your windscreen, becasue i have windburn something feirce.

bridger is the place to go for pow, but the lift lines are just as epic as the skiing. todays report: no new snow last night, but it did snow all day today. it is pretty icy still, with a icy crust off the groomed under about 3 inches of dust. interesting conditions, to say the least. the picnic table jib is quite fun, as ususal, but dont ski switch off the side of it liek i did. the landing below is really icy, so dont take out your buddy when you try to stop with your rounded off edges, like i did. the park over all was pretty firm, but hopefully it snows overnight ( i think it was snowing at closing today). see you up there tomarrow

i will stop ragging on the reactors, i promise

oh ,and i am eating lunch on the picnic tables in the park tomarrow. come watch me get yelled at

i will stop ragging on the reactors, i promise

yeah. if somebody runs over my sandwich, i will flip out

fun things like picnicing??? ahaha thats like watching paint dry, sure picnicing would be fun if you invite 6 friends and you all bang the shit out of each other- lateralis

todays report: it was less cold today, so i didnt rock the pink neck gaitor all through the day. we had about an inch more snow last night, so it was fun all day. i really liked evans heaven and first creek today, but first creek was getting a little chaved off twards the end of the day. the park was pretty hard, with no new features. check the big mtn rail jam post for the rail jam on new years eve

i will stop ragging on the reactors, i promise

todays report: powder! we got about 4 inches, with it snowing all day through when i left. it should be sick tomarrow if that keeps up. the park was nice early int the day, but got a little icy later on. look for new park features the first full weekend of january, after the rail jam. see you tomarrow

the powder of yesterday was pretty much turned to crud today, but the cliffs are still fun. the park has nothing new, but the rail in the beginning has been sketchy for a while, due to the ridiculous amount of lip on the takeoff. it throws you up, and then you land hard on the rail. the groomers seem to be doing an even shadier job than ususal, as momentum is groomed today, but all of ptarmigan bowl wasnt, and the day before it was the opposite. oh well. pray for more snow, and see you tomarrow

lovely day. it was an inversion for the third day in a row, so it was really cool looking out at the sea of clouds and all the little island/mountains. the freestyle team put in a beginner rail in the park today, and it should be back. it is about a 12 ft long pvc pipe, with 2x6s screwed to the bottem of it. it was buried in the snow, so there was only a little clearance for tips and tails, and it was the hardest rail in the park in my opinion. no new snow, so the off the groomed was a little crusty in places, but we need more snow. see you tomarrow

good day at the mtn, it has been sunny for the last 4 days, and i have a google burn/tan. it hasnt snowed since saturday, but we have a winter storm warning for tonight, and possibly emergancy travel only in the morning. you know what a powder emergancy is, right? no new park features, and everything is pretty much covered up, but watch for rocks off the groomed.

i do not fear death, but a wasted life

it was colder than yesterday, and it was less fun. everything is pretty hard underneath the 23 inches of super light pow we got last night, and the snow fone said -5 degrees at the summit this morning. i think we will have cold again tomarrow too. in the park, the crew cleared out a space around the flat box, which makes me think that they might put something else in there tonight, but that is just a guess. the step up and table both have little dips inbetween the takeoff and the landing, so if you come up short it hurts. see you tomarrow

sorry man, that doesn't seem right to me... aussies are horny fornicating bastards.-jibtech

dude ive noticed ur the only one who is posting in this thread, maybe its a sign that nobody cares and that we dont need a daily update of how ur damn mountain is, people can figure it out themselfs
