hi everyone. just thought i'd put in a post for big mtn. if you want to know the snow conditions up here, check bigmtn.com. it's pretty accurate. the park is on the backside on silvertip this year. in the park:

- 5 tables: 10ft, 20ft, 15ft, 35-40ft, 15ft, 8ft

- 3 boxes: rainbow, flat, and a c-box with kinks in it.

- 2 rails: double barrel flat, 10ft; flat down, about 20 ft overall

the park is groomed ususally on friday and saturday nights, but the grooming is unconsistant and doesnt always happen. soem days it is great, and other times it is super icy and sucks

ill update this when i can, message me if you need any info. see ya on the hill

Has anyone ski Bear Paw Ski Bowl? Fun place to ski lots of rocks and icy kickers

hey everyone,

on sunday they changed the c-box in the park. it now curves to the right, and completely screws up the flow of the park. today is monday,a dn it is bluebird out there. i heard something about a big air comp in fernie? ill make another post if i find anything. later

david steele

hi everyone, i just checked the frenie website, and i guess that the comp is a freeski comp(what they mean have no idea). i think it is a extreme skiing thing or something like that. check out www.skifernie.com and click on the link about halfway down the page for more info. later

its ok. sometimes they dont groom it when it really needs it. i heard they closed some jumps becasue it has been hot as hell (50!!!) here, and the landings were turning into scheets of ice after freezing at night. last weekend the lips were really rampy. somtimes the park is good and others it sucks.

david steele

for the last week it has been icy in the morning and slush in the afternoon. pray for snow.

i knew the world was gonna end when my friend asked my 7th grade pe teacher if wet dreams were like slip n' slides

your last hit the big 40 footer was some damn fun last weekend, strait line that shit from below the c-box will get you in the air

dont take life too seriously, you will never get out alive

i don't like that big table to much. The bottom stepover is fucking sick though. Perfect transtion if you go big off of it.

i knew the world was gonna end when my friend asked my 7th grade pe teacher if wet dreams were like slip n' slides

you are only limited by what you think you can do

damn guerrilla steeze get a friggin takeoff

i tried to drive up to jewel basin and the road has like 6 inches of snow on it right now. it still has about 2 miles left of road to melt out. see the new post for stuff regarding summer skiing on logan pass and jewel basin

by the way, the budget was submited for a superpipe and park on the front next year. dont get your hopes up though. it probably wont happen

DONT LISTEN TO DAVID STEELE, holy shit, hes an idiot. cant ski, period. the park is good if you know the crew, they tweak as much as they can for you. its the mountain that fights eveything. but yeah, he doesnt know much about anything, what sucks what doesnt, the cbox didnt ruin the flow, it made it more interesting.

btw, the big booter, was dope before a kid hurt himself, put you up about 25 feet in the air if you flipped, some kid hurt himself.

Davy steele might say theres going to be somethign dope at the pass, not from him.

if you go up the first day its open, when all the photographers are up there, look for me. there will be a roadgap about 200yds to the lakemcdonald side of the building. should be big. bring your cars for us to jump

by the looks of it, we will need some storms between now and the 25th. but it looks like there is enough on the backside to ski on, so hopefully the show will go on. all the same, rock skis

before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. by then, it doesnt matter. your a mile away, and you have his shoes

in the inter lake big mtn said that worst case they would only have the backside open on thanksgiving. how many people are gonna be there opening day? i will be there the 26, cause my family is going to our cabin for thanksgiving. hopefully they will have a rail or something to screw around on when it opens

i appoint myself official master of nothing

I will be there.....if they open. I dont really care if they have any jibs setup. I'll find my own. I just want to ski.

SITZEN

yeah i need to ski on something. i was screwing around inmy room, and i put on my boots and skis and whatnot, and was just leaning forward on my tips and i popped out. better there than on a rock or something than at the big

i appoint myself official master of nothing

yay! it snowed in kalispell today, and snow is mentioned in the forcast for every day till opening. god, i pray you please keep it coming

i have been known to slide down mountains on occasion, like every saturday and sunday november through may

yeah, they are snowed in kalispell, and then it melted.

who knows. they will want ot open the mountain fully first. oh i heard from tele tim that he donated a battleship box to the park this year, so look for that. i went today(11-26-04), and it was pretty sick for my first day. a couple inches of pow, and a nice base made for good cliff hucking and trick learning snow, so i dropped some moderate cliffs and tried to learn a misty 7 over the greywolf table, which i got close on. oh, and the stuff that is roped off is nice skiing, just dont let the patrol catch you, and stay out of hellroaring basin unless you want to hike forever. to that note, i saw some tracks on hellroaring peak, which is crazy

when up again today (11-27-04),it was decent. nice high speed groomers in the morning, and about 2 inches of new stuff. the pow from yesterday was hardened, and with the new snow, made for interesting conditions. see you there tomarrow

i went again today (11-28-04), and it was decent. the powder is getting tracked out, and if i dint mention it t bar 2 opened yesterday. we poached elephants graveyard twice today, and it was nice. we need some more snow, but it is decent

oh i forgot to mention the snow making. they are making tons and tons of snow at big mtn, as you will see if you head up there. dont be stupid like me and ski under the plume, because your googles will be screwed with instant ice stuck to them. yes, i am an idiot

one more think i thought of, maybe i should write these down. if you are visiting big mtn and looking for jumps(or ski here and are completely oblivious) grey wolf is pretty good. the roller after the first cat track is fun, and there are a few little jumps sprinkled around the sides of the run. on the final hill, right before the long cat track, on skiiers right, there is a big run in that leads to a natural table. it was pretty hard on sunday, so check it out before you go and huck it
