hey yall, i live in the east so i aint go to much snow to play with durring sumer, and i dont have the money to go to a camp like Camp of Chapions . So i was wondering what u guys do in the summer to keep in shape and stay on the top of ur game.

Two words- Radio Ron. Other than that, I surf and mountain bike when I'm not skiing and as long as its outside and preferably involving some movement/coordination or balance activity, you'll be ready for the ski season.

astro turf with soap/water slides and pvc rails are a great way to get better over the summer and so you dont come into the season rusty

trying to imitate skiing exactly is not nearly the best way to train in the off season, its much better to get into something else for a while. youll find you have much more control/awareness.

but for just physical training, road biking really cant be beat, specially for building quad strength and endurance. weight lifting is a good bet too, but what you really want to work on is stability training and balance. Its much more important for skiing than useless bulk. trail running/hiking is great, do lots of stuff on one leg, like squats and stuff. it makes your knees a billion times stronger, and helps tremendously with your on snow coordination and injury prevention. yoga/stretch sessions to keep limber.

as for actual other sports and such, mountain biking is a great cross training tool, its way more of a whole body thing than riding road, and alot more fun. inline can def help a bunch on rails, and trampolines are prime for keeping your air sense up. but really, like i said, anything that keeps you active is good.

Best, and most fun, training regimen I've ever done. 3 days on, one off, an average workout takes around 20 min, and it will kick your ass.

It's strength training coupled with cardio by doing everything in supersets. It combines power lifting with simple exercises like pull ups and squats. Most days you will do your workout "for time" (i.e. as fast as you can without rest between sets) giving you your strength and endurance at the same time.

My legs were only sore from skiing one day this season after starting Crossfit in September. It's awesome.

this is what im doing. it seems like a great way to get jibs down and make shur you go into the next seaon ready to shred

Jap and I also go to the gym.

Quote of Ahmet Dadali: " You don't have to be a protein-loving extra small

shit wearing guy to go to the gym! Yout legs won't regret it."

>>That's pretty much it!

biking for cardio, stretching and yoga for flexibility and balance, weights for strength, tramp for tricks (perhaps water ramps for the first time this summer). i don't necessarily do all this just for skiing but it's stuff i enjoy doing to stay healthy and have fun,

peace
