Off-Season :: Rollerblade or Skateboard

This has probably been posted before, but I couldn't find it, and really, it should be talked to death.

Anyhow, do you rollerblade or skateboard in the offseason (I know some of you BMX or do other stuff, but I just want to talk about skating and blading).

If you rollerblade, do you think it crosses over to jibbing on skis?

Does skateboarding? I mean, when you're sliding skis you're basically in a 50-50 stance.

hah i try to skateboard. i also have rollerblades and i wanted t otry them t osee how hard it was to do rails with them, but the insides are like fullof mouse crap. so, i guess ill hold on that

ROLLING IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD TO HELP YOUR SKIING! NOTHING IS CLOSER... It gives you balls if you try stuff burly, and I definitely made the immediate transistion to grinding on skis from skating since ive only been doing park 2 seasons... like my friends practice doing 450 bs royales on rails and then take that shit to skiing... same with like dspins and shit, like you can practice so good with skates... www.kkc.owns.it has some good edits of my friends and i doing mostly rollerblading with the occassional skiing edits..

im taking up skateboarding this summer. i bought an amazing board from walmart. my goal is to kickflip before school starts agian.

 
I bought a skateboard in January. I use it to get all around campus. Me and my friends go and do sessions in the parking structures at my school. Best $13 I ever spent.

Ok, skateboarding is better. I'm not just saying this because it is popular. I think it is because I like the style allot more. I don’t think there is anything that has more style than skating. Also... Once you get decent at it and you are cool with the board, and feel confident, it becomes the most fun thing in the world (besides skiing). I love trying to adapt skating style to skis.

 
skating actually can give you some style, and running and jumping on a skate for momentum on speed, makes you balance the same as if you were on a rail on skis. My vote goes to skating, i do it whenever i'm not skiing and it's awesome

i rollerblade it's helped me perfect the landings of some tricks off big fly boxes. and rail im not the greatest at thats a goal this year but i can toss flips and 3's on blades and almost land 7's corked 7's. need more air..

I skateboarded for 3 and a half years and got pretty good, and then i came to rollerblading and i love it, it makes me feel like i am on skis and i can try stuff i never even would think about on a weely board. yes i get the occasional 'fruitbooting fag.' or stuff like that

but atleast my momma doesn't have a huge ass. Ya know?

ive done both and i think skateboarding is alot more fun. the feeling of carving and grinding in a bowl is so fun.

Yeah well I have been rollerblading for about a year now I'd say and its pretty fun to jump sets and stuff and I'm just starting to learn how to do rails properly and ledges (hopeflly I can grind a small handrial by the end of the season). Very recently I have started borrowing my friend's brother's deck to try skateboarding(I have only really been skateboarding 3-5 times). Its pretty fun and it's not that hard, in about 3 sessions I've gone from not being able to ollie or stand straight while moving on a skateboard to being able to ollie 3 sets and sewers without much difficulty, I can also spin kickflips and varials and stuff. Tomorow me and some of my friends who are actually good at skateboarding and do stuff down the sets I simply ollie are going to a 4 set and I hope to ollie it.

In all I think that doing both is the way to go. Personally, if I am going to something small like a small set (2-4 stairs) I'll skateboard and if Im going to something bigger I'll inline. If I 'm going downtown for the whole day or something I just bring both a nd interchange at different places and to try different things. CHanging between both is really refreshing and there's way more possibilities.

I FR bike, but if i had to say which ones better, id go with skate boarding, eventhough both or really good for rail bal. skate boarding gives you style (which is way everyone thinks skating is rad and fruitbootin is gay), and to prove this point watch the X games park or pipe events to compare, you'll notice rollerbladers suck in the air the penis spin everything, like common now double backflip 180 in the pipe that is such a mad huck and even though it gets insanity points its a huge huck

 
i rollerblade. not embarassed to say it either. and pipe skating and pipe skiing dont really compared at all. and if anyone watched the x games at all, i havent seen a skateboarder do anything close to as stylie looking as bruno lowe's switch flat 3's. rolling definately helped me a ton as far as rails go on skis too
