Off Hill Skiing Tips

I searched around and couldnt find anything more then a few minor tips on how to improve your ability to ski off the hill. Some of which were with a trampoline and just practicing flips, spins grabs etc. Also balance techniques on a balance board. I made a balance board out of an old deck and a 2 liter coke bottle filled with water, and i have been doing that.Im not sure if it helps that much, but its pretty fun to do.
so i was wondering if anyone could tell me some threads (post the links) cause i couldnt find much on ns or tgr. Also what things have you done to improve your balance, or your skiing ability off the hill. What did you use, techniques, etc.? post some pictures, or how to make whatever you used. Because i want to improve my park skiing as much as possible off the hill in the summer, besides using my summer setup.
+k for bumps/help

Basically any athletic activity you do a lot of will help. Soccer builds endurance, leg muscle, and agility. Biking build line-riding skills, leg muscles, air sense, confidence. Tramp builds gymnastic ability, knowledge of tricks, and air sense. Working out builds muscle which is huge.
Just do something, or many things, but spend a lot of your time outside and you'll be set for ski season. And stretch because the only way to get flexibility is to stretch.
Find a new sport if you don't have one for summer already, and stay dedicated until you get good at it.

honestly i just got board one day and started spinning around my house. That was this summer where last season i only knew 3's and now after about 8 days this year i can do 9's. Claim i know. But i truly attribute it to the fact that i can do 9's just standing in my shoes after just randomly spinning all the time.

just out of curiosity what is that supposed to do? I just did it and all that ended up happening was I looked like a fool in class haha.

i can do 7s and i tought I was pretty good at random spinning but you beat me. I would like to see some footage of that too.

try jumping 270 onto a skateboard it helps the feel of jumping on a rail, obviously its much harder but trust me it helps, oh and if ur interested in trampoline just start out doing small tricks and then work ur way up to doing like mistys and stuff

ill definately try the 270 on thing. and as with the trampoline, my bro and i are trying to buy one, i can do a front, and back, and lincoln loop type on it. but i cant get like a misty for some reason, once im inverted i cant figure out of to twist or spin

My rock climbing gym has a wooden board that you put on a big piece of pvc. That's supposed to help build balance. Plus it's fun. You could try to come up with a similar device only that is more natural for how a skier rides rails.

get one next summer for sure. i found an old one that was stored every winter for 100$. my mom made me buy a net though.

tramp/ diving board, rollerblade/ skateboard/ bike, and watch ski movies... get inspired watch other peoples styles and take bits and pieces to create your own

I broke my ankle on a trampoline, so that screwed up my season more than anything.

Carving up hills on a longboard is the best practice for me, it totally boosts your confidence at speed. But of course my friend fractured his skull this summer while longboarding, so choose your poison.

I know this might seem kinda lame, but doing some yoga stretches is seriously helpful for off-the-mountain training.

Developing core strength, flexibility, and focus are pretty nice skill sets to translate to stronger skiing.
