'Ode to the Ladies

Ladies, tis a time in every womans life when the seasons change and the world becomes slightly less mediocre. The earth is blanketed with a white powder with an addiction similar to cocaine. The makeup bag gets tossed in the bottom drawer, and the oversized beanie becomes a necessary accessory to our daily life. Our bodies turn to pure white, a defense mechanism to blend in with our environment, except for the lower half of our face which turns to the color of a brazilian bronze god. Our razors becomes rusted in the shower while our leg hair turns to potential donations to locks of love. Bathing turns into a monthly thing. We become hermits by night. Staring at our skis thinking of days to come and wear out our favorite ski porn as if we were perverts. Each day we wake up, no use for coffee because our adrenaline is already going. Bumping our favorite song over and over as we drive way too fast to reach the hill 3 hours before it opens. We roll up into the parking lot, spinning cookies to pass the time and smoking a "green cigarette" as we pull into parking spot #1. As we put on our gear, we can't help but take a glance in the window observing how rad we look. To skier chicks, this is our lingerie. This is us at our sexiest. We click into our skis. It sends a tingle up our spine. A slight grin emerges on our face. As we scoot in to line (first chair of course) we look around at all the testosterone oozing from every angle. With that small grin on our face, we get ready. Ready for the greatest time of our life. An orgasmic experience far better than any "bro-brah" can deliver. As we drop in, we know that this is what we were meant to do. Our calling, our passion, our love. Our Life. We get sweaty, smelly, helmet hair to the max, cheeks as red as apples. But we don't care. Our worries are no longer with us. Everything is pure as the fallen snow. Nothing can stop us. We are not girls among men, we are equals. The only somewhat remotely feminine thing we do is follow the directions on our shampoo bottle. Ski, sleep, repeat....This is the life of the women who shred.

I hope to see you badass chickas out there shredding your hearts out. Its our time ladies, give it every ounce you have. Repeat.

Haha, the mention of no makeup just made my mind flash to seeing those girls in the lift lines with caked on makeup that a bulldozer couldn't remove.

Thats so true. Except I shower a lot haha.

Skiing is an unrivalled feeling and being one of the only girl that slays around and chilling wiht all the guys is a sick feeling.

Thanks for writing this it describes my season well.

haha and the bathing becoming a monthly thing. I love skiing, but it's never stopped me from showering. Even on trips, you find a way.

But great spirit. Hope to see more girls on the mtn that have such a passion for just being on the snow.

If a woman is out having fun and skiing, leg hair is fine. We need to stop looking for models, and start looking for skiers. And the women's ski industry will be a lot freer when that happens.

Yeah it would be great to have more girls to shred with. It's sometimes challenging being one of the only girls in the group. Its always good to have more girls around. It's such a male dominated sport.

More girls in the sport would be a win-win for everyone. You know how hard it is for us dudes to find girlfriends when 95% of chicks want nothing to do with a guy who spends all his money and time skiing?!?!

And then even when you sacrifice some skiing for a girl and it still isn't enough for them and they leave you!!!

Yeah, we need more chick skiers.

Very nicely worded, couldn't have said it better myself! maybe a little over-exagurated on the shaving part but awsome nuntheless! it made me smile!

haha yeah i definitely keep up with personal hygiene during ski season. and i'm pretty much ghostly white year round.

nice little prologue to the ski season

me too haha but this thread just made my anxiety for skiing even more, you perfectly described my life in the winter minus the no shaving part and no showering part. This is all i feel once I'm at the mountain, i ski sleep and ski for 5+ months. feels sooo good to know that theres actually other girls out there who are passinate about skiing as much as I do! great post +k

NEVER, and i mean NEVER, date a chick who skis. this is your place to unwind, to get away from the bullshit. and if you do then shit just gets all fucked up

whoa I never thought of that, I'll probably still try to teach my girl how to ski tho, shes def not the athletic type so maybe she will just hate it ahaha

they should be clean and smell nice and everything but sometimes girls go a little overboard with the makeup. i find some girls would look so much more down to earth if they just cut down on the make up. especially that purple eyeliner shit that makes them look like they got in a bar fight. nice hair is always a plus though

you crack me up,

girls should be shredding hardcore, theres no reason for women's skiing to be less technical than men's
