Cover is on our Facebook. There's also a sick story in there about Sammy Carlson hitting up Snowboarder Mag's Super Park. It's on newsstands next week but wanted to give NS a sneak peak.

Also wanted to thank those of you that have sent in AWESOME (and I mean AWESOME) letters to the editor concerning the September issue. Your feedback, positive and negative, is 100% helping us improve the magazine. You guys are the best.

Forgot to put the email in there for letters to the edtior (we're giving away SICK set ups from our sponsors): powdermag@sorc.com

This past labor day weekend i found myself waiting for my gf trying on clothes at the mall. I decided to purchase the powder buyers guide to read while i waited. My question is why there are so many references to weed? I mean first i was reading the profiles of the ski testers an one mentioned "safty meetings on the chairlift" I got a little chuckle out of that. Then the article about charlie toups, i didnt read the article because i read all about it when he was first arrested. But he was arrested for possesion. Then the interview with Cam Riely and how he lists doobies as an essential for urban ski trips. Even the one page bio of Bobby Brown eludded to the idea that he doesnt smoke.

maybe it just stood out to me because i was bored in a mall, but i thought it was odd to have that many weed references in the issue that will probably be in every shop all winter.

^ FUCK YEAH SKI SHOW. also, it really is great to see that you guys are encouraging feedback and really trying to improve the mag. nice to see a ski magazine other than freeskier trying to attract our demographic.

Perhaps it's the spiritual advisors guiding hand

that or smoking weed and skiing powder go togather so well

as it was in the past so should it continue KIR

I can't speak for everyone but Powder was founded on the notion of covering the other skiing experience and they (I guess I should say "we") have never shied away from asking tough questions and reporting accurately with What's Up. You could probably find more drinking references than weed references in the first issue. In fact, read the Nevada feature and you'll have a much better idea of the kind of stories Powder is trying to tell. In short, we're trying to tell truthful, detail specific stories instead of fluffed up, "you're the best that ever skied" stories.

I got a chance to look through the new issue. From what i saw, it is solid as a rock. I also like the more raw style of writing, there's no reason to censor this mag for a demographic such as ours. tell it like it is! i don't know if i'm getting older or if Powder is getting better, but lately i've found that i'm a way bigger fan of Powder than Freeskier. (no hate at all towards Freeskier)
