OCCUPY OCCUPY WALL STREET!

Yeah man, like they're totally hoarding all of the money man. They earn all of this money working 60-80hrs a week, busting their ass dawn to dusk and they totally don't deserve all of it man. You defintiely deserve some of their money because they are greed. You should just like start a protest man, you shouldn't have to do anything and you should, like, get some of their money man, right on.

There is no finite amount of money. And give it back? To who people who need some money? Your pretty much living up to all the stereotypes people have of OWS people. That you are lazy and want money/desperately need money and you see other people with it which they or their family members have slaved for and and you see confinscateable assets and make up some accusation of greed to try to gain access to redistributable wealth

What do you know about black people from the ghetto? Are you a black person from the ghetto? No? Then shut the fuck up about it.

Man I'm starting to get extremely agitated. This is going to be my last post in this thread. Holy smokes.

I just went on a huge rant but would rather not post it. Why are you bringing up the race card? That is absurd. Government is not going to fix the black community. When 70 of black children are being born into families without married parents, obviously that child is going to have a much harder time growing into a man. Thats a statistic for your ass. I don't tknow where I would be in life without my father.

Thats not racist. If you call it racist, you are clearly looking to find racism.

i wish more people were educated in basic economics.

people don't get CEO positions because their parents were rich. their family may have been well off, but no one is going to get a CEO job without not knowing what you are doing. they still had to go to school and get the education of how to run a huge corporation. that is an incredible amount of hard work to get there.

just because you see rich family people in the media (paris hilton etc.) who are products on inheritance, doesn't mean that's the case of the people running the companies. paris obviously has NO influence on the policies that Hilton sets in their business structures. rags to riches is the more common scenario. wealth isn't generated from nothing.

as for the rich "hoarding" there money, that's not true at all. what the rich actually do is invest it. this helps companies grow, meanwhile creating jobs. it is not worth someone's dime to hold onto their money, when they can invest it and get greater returns down the road.

lastly, jobs aren't forced overseas to the extent that people believe. most job loss in America comes from technological advances, not outsourcing. would you like us to stop making technological advances so we can keep jobs? no. because you would complain about how life sucks again. furthermore, no one even wants the jobs that we do send overseas. it's not efficient for America to keep these jobs.

I'm not a hippie.

Wasn't saying that people that work hard should just hand other people money. I just think they need some legislation to keep people from taking over everything and controlling all the money and the jobs. the government can help more jobs come back to America but the rich people can still keep there money and not have to give it away. As long as people don't own everything and control all of the money.

It's America, land of opportunity. what opportunity is there when you can't get a job or afford to feed your family. That just seems wrong to me.

you must have down syndrome. OWS is not a very serious thing. its a bunch of bums who have been sleeping in a park for more than 2 months. they are not trying to accomplish anything specific, they are just protesting for the sake of protesting. Im not saying i like the direction our country is headed, but this is not the right way to solve the problem.

Wtf does this even mean are you going to legislate that businesses can't be any bigger than legislated size? Or how much the can pay their administration? I can't imagine any legislation against corporations that would not just kill global competion and get normal working class people laid off all over the country...

Dude how old are you? if you're over the age of 18 i feel very sorry for how uneducated you are on the government, economics and how business works.

who the fuck are you to say these people are hoarding it. Warren Buffets been urging how he wants himself and other super wealthy people to pay a more significant amount of taxes. Rob dyrdek builds tons of safe spot skate spots, and he also has founded the Rob Dyrdek foundation to create and promote healthy communities for skateboarding. Most these rich people are the reason amazing charities/foundations exist. GET THIS STEREOTYPE of hoarding out of your ASS.

Me actually i didnt come from a family of means, my parents live pay cheque to pay cheque. since i was 12 years old, i fuckin worked EVERY DAY of EVERY SUMMER so that I could save up enough capital to buy ski coaching, ski pass, buss pass, and if I was lucky!! some gear. WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO with every one of ur summers, id be glad to hear, get drunk? do drugs? work a bit ? I slaved out there. I was a foreman of a cherry farm at the age of 14, sounds funny. I made a business of 40 people run smoothly, it was one hell of a responsibility being 14.

No you shouldn't start stealing or selling drugs because then you would join the hoard of useless people in our societys which is significantly influencing this crisis. Jail costs are retarted expensive. Jail heals a very very small number of people that enter, most come out worse then they went in. Its been proven if you offer these people therapy, rehab, counselling, schooling, get them the fuck healed NOT ONLY is it cheaper, its way more productive.

CREATE YOUR OWN JOB! dont rely on the world to hold your hand. Thats what I'm doing and I love every second of it, im my own boss, and move at my own pace. And frankly im gonna work my ass off until im successful. We need OPTIMISM, and HARD-WORKING people.

You disgust me to say your not lucky too, theres people dieing, starving, etc. in this world and your mad because your lazy?? I will go to Africa one day when I'm ready, to help. Because I know when I go there it's gonna crush me and rebuild me into a new person.

This fuckin bullshit goin on disgusts me, dont get me wrong some people have very optimistic contributions on how we could change things but 90% of these people are fucking idiots that have no idea what they are fighting for..

After actually reading all the posts in this thread the amount of butthurt is astounding. These people aren't modern day founding fathers, nothing is going to change because of what they are doing. You need guns for that. On the other hand, the injustices I assume they are protesting (I haven't actually heard any clear statement of motives from these people) are indeed unjust and must be stopped. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that at least some of them know what they are talking about, although probably not all the hipsters.

I don't understand why everybody is getting so worked up over this. Its a peaceful protest, these things happen like every day. Let people do it, its their right too. Personally I have bills and shit so I can't just not go to work and run down to LA to yell at people in suits, as much fun as it would probably be. And yeah, nobody is risking their lives here. I've been to protests that turned violent before, and to be honest I've experienced more actual danger on skis despite the fact that tear gas and mace suck a lot. Plus the protests I went to were protesting things....like police brutality for example, with specific circumstances. What are the Occupy people protesting? Rich people or something? I don't get it.

Just don't get too close to the cops, billy clubs hurt.

I'm not saying all of the protesters are there for the right reasons. people always come in just to protest because of the hype or whatever. That happens all the time.

I think the majority of the people their are their for the great good and staying true to what the protest was all about in the first place.

What do you expect when teachers are being promoted based on their time with a school district rather than how well they teach their students. This whole thread is rather depressing

kinda shocking that he thinks the government can just make a law that business should give up money? or that these business should give someone else their money? he doesnt seem to understand what reinvesting in a company means, or anything else related to business or economics. Quite sad.

Its fucking true dude, we have no right being there or anywhere else in the Middle East, and we aren't doing anything productive over there. I have good friends that are soldiers and I support the troops, they are just doing their jobs. I get pissed when the Government takes away benefits for veterans. But I will not pretend like we are protecting American values in the Middle East, because we fucking aren't. The entire thing is a fiasco.

they hoard all the money? what the fuck does that mean realy? I know what it means but stop just throwing it out there like a sensationalist bafoon. And they do give some back, they pay taxes... that is what our system is based on.

again how did you end up being jobless? you sound like such a smart, hardworking indavidual.

It's fall. there aren't a lot of good jobs in the fall. Most stuff is just summer and winter. And a lot of the jobs are shitty jobs anyway.

Getting a job isn't hard, I got one in the god damn Tenderloin when I moved up to SF and it took me 2 days. Actually I just sat around and got high for the first day, so it took me 1 day. And supposedly its harder to get a job there than in Detroit, and I don't have a degree or any skills really. And it was a business run by a black chick so being white didn't even help.

Would you please tell me what the Occupy Wall Street people are protesting without making it a dissertation? Nobody has been able to give me a straight answer on this. Its like everybody is protesting something different. Are they protesting capitalism or what? What are they protesting in a sentence?

I would say you have a point if you were talking about Iraq. The Taliban needs to be dismantled.

That's awesome man. I'm glad you were able to find something. That doesn't mean jobs come easy for everyone though.

And what exactly has capitalism gotten us. Housing prices dropped, the stock market dropped, the economy is shit, but there are still rich people getting richer. That's kind of fucked

Please, stop posting. Spitting your uneducated bullshit at everyone is making you look stupid.

Hahahaha are you guys even reading these posts? Why are you responding to this, there's no way this is serious. Successful troll is successful.

Fucking Taliban needs to be dismantled, this is exactly the kind of bullshit they sell to the American public to justify what we are doing in the middle east. We aren't killing the Taliban. We are killing them. We're killing people who are protecting their houses and farms. And we created the god damned Taliban in the first place. Every time we do anything in the Middle East, we fuck everybody's day up, including our own. We need to stop policing the world and get our own shit together.

How long have we been fighting the Taliban? Ten years now that we've been fighting them proper, yes? And no end in sight? It took five years to beat the Nazis, one of the most dangerous military forces ever assembled in history. You're saying we can't kill the Taliban, a bunch of religious nutjobs with beards and 20 year old AK-47s living in caves, in double the amount of time it took us to kill the Nazis? Something isn't fucking adding up. We aren't over there killing a fucking army, we're over there killing them. And we aren't leaving. We got in to Iraq, finished with them and went to Afghanistan. Once we're done with them we'll go for Iran and Syria. We just got Gaddafi. We've toppled four leaders in the past four years, this is some old school imperialistic gangsta shit.

Every day America spends in the Middle East gets more of us, and more of them killed. By the time we're done there we'll have killed more of those people than Saddam and Gaddafi and everyone else combined ever did.

No I agree. Fuck capitalism, (A)//(E), CNT-FAI, all that shit. I'm just not seeing a clear declaration of intent from the occupy wall street thing. What exactly are they trying to achieve? I mean, you can't just ask capitalism to go away. You have to blow it up or refuse to work for it. Why aren't they trying to network with unions?

I think not therefore I am not. And I go to school. It's not like I'm some hoodrat degenerate. I read and stuff.. I know about history and economies.

I really w2asn't saying I support everyone of the protesters. It's a divers group. I support their right to protest but not everyones beliefs. I just believe in the main effort of the movement. I think this is an important stepping stone towards change.

our history teacher has been letting us watch news segments about it at the end of class. I just find it both exciting and inspiring

Also so far no one has been able to explain to me why wall street. What do those guys have to do with anything. I'm pretty sure the day traders there have much more at stake than the protesters and would very much like to see the US economy pick up, but they don't exactly have a lot of say in it. This should probably be "Occupy Washington D.C.", if anything. It's a pretty good symbol for how completely unfocused and nonsensical this protest movement is. They have no clear sense of who or what they're supposedly protesting.

Come on people, don't tell him to stop posting, stuff like this is absolute gold.

THANK YOU!!! you finally shared the reason why you are an IDIOT. guys his teacher has been brainwashing him with this BULLSHIT. get off your ass and get a job and do something productive.

get off your computer and do something about it!! "if you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change"

couldn't have said it any better myself MJ...i bet you're just moon walking all over the place up there! RIP big guy!!!

but seriously dude, stop trolling. this is getting real old, real fast. and ur gay

I'm not sure exactly. I don't think it's as much them as individuals as it's the sort of evil they represent. Maybe not evil, but just sort of greed.

We aren't trying to get rid of them or anything, or make businesses close down and stuff, we just want to see the government make some changes.

I don't think that's too much to ask for. We're trying to do it in a peaceful way. If anything people should support that I think, ya know?

Considering money is the issue and the park they are camped at is a block away from the federal reserve id say thats the reason (idk though) As far as the whole government thing, what is the biggest problem with the way things are ran currently? Too much financial influence by large corporations right? So if they can annoy the businesses enough, OWS can maybe change the views VP's of big business'

which in return will change the mind of the money sheep we call politicians.

"Money" is the issue? Doesn't that kind of make my point for me? Seriously, these people are protesting something vaguely to do with money. They're not protesting a particular policy or strategy or the activities of a particular company or brokerage house or... anything. They're upset, and it has something to do with money, so let's hang out on Wall Street. How can anyone possibly hope to maintain any credibility when their movement is founded on something that unquestionably stupid?

As for "financial influence by large corporations", feel free to name me a few of these large corporations who are causing the problem, and let me know if ANY of them have their corporate headquarters on fucking Wall Street. Here's a hint: they don't. So what the hell are you people doing there? Why would that in any way impact the day to day routine of officers of any company you might take issue with? I wouldn't. Of course, that's not even the point, since most of these people couldn't name a company and explain the problems they have with what said company is doing.

What it comes down to is the protesters are vaguely angry and want to lash out at something, but don't really understand why they're upset and consequently have no specific target or goal. And that is just silly.

The thing is...it isn't like that.

People start out at shit paying jobs when they are 16 and work their up to the higher level jobs within the company all the time. It just takes hard work and determination.

whoa whoa whoa. I was just throwing that out there. I am by no means supporting that unorganized mess. No 2 people are unified in their message and it is going nowhere without leadership and a common goal.

At the very least OWS is making the rest of America second guess things. whatever those things are.
