Obsethed vs Sir Francis Bacon

I just wanted some opinions.

I ski in the Northern Rockies and I'm hoping we have a good season. I was in the market for a daily driver before the season starts.

I basically want a ski that can rip through the harkpack, groomers, find some pow, and handle any dust on the crust. I have some powder sticks already and my current go-to skis are probably only going to make it half through the season this year if I'm lucky.

So, I was wondering what would make a better ski for a daily driver on a 5'10" douche bag - the 2010 Obsethed or 2013 Sir Francis Bacon? I don't doubt the integrity of either ski, I just want to hear if anyone has rode either of them. I had the 2011 Sir Francis Bacon previously and I've demo'd the 2010 Obsethed in a 179 in 2011, so it's been awhile.

I like going riding(and swinging) both ways and am very aggressive. The faster the ski will charge for me the better. Stomping whatever, keeps up to par with floating in the deep, and some snappy tree turns. And if the Obsethed, should I do the 179 or 189? Most every rockered ski I've ridden has been 182+.

I love you NSers and I'd appreciate your feedback.

Also, might consider a Moment Bibby, though I've never rode a pair.

I love the Sir Francis Bacons, not as big of a fan of the K2s. I've riden both, I own the SFBs. I find them to be great in pow, and a pretty stable groomer ski at high speeds.... Even on 25-30 footers they stand up nice. I didnt ride the obsethed long, but I find them kind of a heavy ski.. Harder to move around.

I've always wanted to try a pair of ON3P's. Those look dope. They have good reviews and look incredibly versatile.

Has anyone skied the Jeronimo and new SFB? Comparisons?

I can tell you that the new bacons are fun as fck, very playful all round. If your after something that charges hard then dont go the bacon. But with that said it still holds up decent on groomers.

I have never rode the on3p wrenegrade but my brother and ski coach have them and they charge them as hard as possible on everything so I would look into them for a daily driver

I'm leaning towards them more and more, because the phenomenal reviews and I can get them on lay-away with a discount at a local shop. I don't need it to charge super hard, but I definitely want something that holds it's own. I might be returning to the Bacon. Since they're not as fat and rockered as they used to be, are they still good in deeper conditions?

The Wrenegades look dope. Seem to be more oriented for what I want too, which is a plus. However, I don't know if I want to spend close to $800.

Thanks for the feedback you guyz.

I rode both skis quite a bit last year. I rode the Obsethed in the NW (Crystal/whistler) in deeper/heavier snow, but used the SFB as my daily driver in the Northwest and in Colorado.

I really loved both skis, but I'd have to give the edge to the Bacon especially if you're trying to get a solid everyday ski. The Bacon's definitely not the best ski for charging, but you can definitely get it going and its a lot more stable than you'd think. It floats really well and if you're trying to spin more and ride switch, I can't think of a more versatile ski than the bacon. It'll definitely stay solid on the crappy days and can definitely stomp the landings, too... I think it's a no brainer.

The obsethed is not hard in the trees at all. Due to the crazy rocker profile you can pivot and swing around trees like a dream. If there's powder in the trees you just float through it like it's not even there.

OP, for your needs don't pick the Obsethed. It is mainly a powder ski and if you already have a pow ski go with the SFB. The Obsethed is not an all mountain ski.

Yeah, I know it's not an AM ski, but for shitty days I snowboard, days it's dumping I use my pow sticks, and I was looking for a medium. I also thought it would be cool to pick up a new pair, considering they're now not in production.

Thanks everyone, I'm getting the new Bacons for my daily drivers.

Fingers crossed for an awesome season!!

I would take the bacon simply because you want to be on trail and in pow. Let me put it like this, a duke would go on an obsethed and a sth 14 on a bacon
