Obsethed vs. JJ

I'm looking for a ski that can do powder, but still hold an edge on the way back to the lift, blow through crud at the end of the day, and handle trees fine. I don't plan on using them for park.
I've narrowed it down to the JJs or Obsethed. I would probably put Jesters on the JJs, or the 2010 Scizos on the Obsetheds. I could get a way better price on the Seths but I don't want to spend any money on something I might not like. I also don't think I could find the JJs in 185 for a decent price. I plan on getting the 2009 JJs in 185 or the 2010 Seths in 189 (I'd snag the Seths through a rep probably in the summer).
I'm 5'10" 165 lbs and I like to charge 50% of the time and make nice surfy turns 50% of the time.
Which one should I buy?

I've heard good things about the Obsethed, and I think just about everyone that has them likes them. I can't say from experience because I've never rode them. They do look fun and I'd love to try some out.

JJs I can vouch for. They'd be great for everything you want to do that you've listed. I really need to put up a review so I can just link it in here...

Anyway I think you'll like either set, both good choices I'd say.

Thanks +k
That's the problem though, I've heard good stuff about both. I know the JJs will be perfect, but the Obsetheds I can get for cheaper.
Does anyone have a pic of the Seths rocker?

Just a quick FYI, the 179 obSETHed will actually measure closer to a 185 JJ then the 189JJ. And I am 5'11" 170lbs and went for a 179 seth. I wouldn't go 189 unless you are doing a LOT of charging and pow all the time and no park.

if you want to know about the jj look in my threads, i wrote a review on them
i have nothing to say about the obsethed, never skied it

I think the obsethed is a good all around ski. You can ski it through powder like a champ and jib it like crazy off jumps. I had 179's but have opted for 179 hellbents because i got a good deal on them. I am excited to see what these can do.

havent heard much about the obsethed but i have heard some good things about the jj's. they are probably more what you might be looking for.
you should peep some of the moment skis if your looking for a good powder ski.
a few of my friends ride the bibby pros and they love them everywhere. even on days where the pow gets tracked out i can still see them slayin the park too (although you said you wouldnt want to do that) but my point is that they are super versatile as well.
might wanna research them more. i might be wrong. but just a heads up

Thanks everyone ++k
no_steeze that review is sick + we ski around the same places
I'm leaning pretty heavily towards the JJs, does anyone have more good stuff to say about the Seths?

If you can wait for a couple of days I can give you a thorough review on the obsethed.

never ridden the JJs, but i got to ride some seths out at Baker last year, and they are exactly what your lookin for. they blow through crud, the shape and flex charges really hard, but rocker makes them real easy to slash, and in the trees they are plenty maneuverable. its a great ski for high speed, steep tech terrain in soft snow.

Actuallly I just saw some Obsetheds, they aren't really rockered (at all) or fat, i think I'm gonna go for the JJs

The waist is about the same(1cm at waist, but with the five dimensions it isn't bigger in the tips or tails) and the rocker is only a tiny bit more. The jjs recomended mount is quite a bit farther forward so if you like a centered ski, the recomended will feel closer on the jj then on the seth.

The major difference between the two skis is stiffness. The seths are a lot stiffer. If you like a stiff ski get seths, if you like a mid flex ski get jjs. So it really depends on your weight.

I have also heard the seths are a bit heavier, but if you aren't doing park that proabably doesn't matter much.
