Obsethed Vs. Hellbents

So I'm looking for another ski to add to my quiver. Right now I have the 178 JO Pros and am looking for a fatter, all mountain ski. I'm 6'1 185. I don't do any crazy steep lines or huck 30 foot cliffs.

depends. Im a fan of both skis. It comes down to what terrain and type of skiing you do.

obSETHed- stiffer, more for charging gnar lines, or skiing all over the mtn like a freight train. Obvious great in pow, really nice in chunder as its stiffer and has more direct contat to the snow as it has less rocker. This would either be my mate in a two ski quiver ( plus park ski) or a day-after pow day ski/chunder shit snow ski

HellBent- Pow. obviously. but is actually pretty fun all over the mtn. IMO. I skied them 8 out of 10 days on my last trip to CO/WY and there wasn't new snow in sight. They hold a pretty good edge( for a ski as rockered as it is) when railing groomers. not amazing in chunder, as the rocker pops you up on every bump instead of plowing through it. if you ski pow days like you ski the park, this is your ski

im 6' 195lbs and ski like an asshole

If you want a fatter all mountain ski, I think the obesthed would be the way to go. It should perform way better on groomers, moguls, crud, pretty much everything but pow. The hellbent is a sicker ski for deep pow but the obsethed should still kill it in any conditions, including deep. They should both be really fun, playful skis.

this years obsethed is a fun ski, good for almost anywhere on the mountain, but next years model is similar to this years hellbents, with the same amount of rocker and almost the same width. if you are looking for a ski for next year similar to the obsthed, the kung fujas will be replacing it (102 underfoot)

depends on how much pow and back country you do both are good skis

hell bents all the way though...wait till next years hellbents

like Jduke said, bents= ski pow like the park. good for tricks and having fun.

Seths Rip. they charge waaaaay harder, and like being skied aggressivly, when bents really dont.

it should be a pretty easy decision. if you want your pow skiing to be more parklike, bents. if you wanna ride gnarly terrain and charge, Seths.

Ive ridden both a bunch, and own bents, btw.

dont waste your money on bents when you can buy on3p caylors for less and they are better in every single way

ha! what horrible advice, don't even bother with on3p. The company is sketchy. Horrible customer service, shit skis that break, douche bag reps.

how so? bents ride like a park twin, not an all mountain charging ski. Same feel, just designed for deep snow instead of park groomers.

You keep talking out your ass. How's the midwest? I'm still skiing pow in Utah. Charging "all over the mountain" and skiing lines on my Hellbents. You shouldn't compare real skiing in any way shape or farm to park skiing, ever.

why the hell would you want hellbents or even the 105mm seths in the midwest? I guess to be "innovative" by trying to do presses and butters, and to look like a complete idiot at the local mole hill.

If you live in the midwest you should be racing so you actually have an idea of how to turn when you get to ski on a REAL mountain with REAL snow.

haha, this is hilarious. like i dont get to ski "REAL MOUNTAINS" with "REAL SNOW"

get real. Ive been all over the place, and i dont need you to tell me I havent.

whats "real" skiing?

i thought the moment you click into your skis and slide on snow, you were skiing. maybe I don't know what skiing is after all.

Yeah brobrah. You keep on living in the midewest, owning Hellbents, and giving advice on subjects you know nothing of. You're killin' it bud.

Both are surprisingly versatile. Obsethed is a little more aggressive IMO. Hellbents get a little sketchy at warp speed 9 on hardpack... if that's going to pose a problem to you (who knows, it might...), get the Obsethed.

hellbents would fit since you dont charge. there better for slow pillow skiing, and in the trees. the obsethed are better for charging and going fast. go hellbents. i love mine.

This, I have 189 centered hellbents and im 6'3 193 and absolutely love them. If you are a good enough skier any ski will do the trick for ya though

yeah, your probably right. Im sorry i was going to school in one of the top ranked design programs in the country to learn something, so I could do something positive with my life. and I guess I really dont know shit about skiing or anything, ya know, since i spent all last december living out of my car skiing UTAH and CO. and I guess the PNW is a pretty shitty spot to ski too. oh yeah, and now that I have $ ya know, from graduating from college, guess where im headed? yea. utah. suck it.

Since your so damn core, why dont you give the kid some advice, ya know, since i dont know shit and all...

Im scared to post on this thread...people are getting heated over this stuff. Im riding last years Obsethed in a 179. Love em, they work good for me since I get a lot of tracked out pow with hard pack underneath. Because they don't have as aggresive of a rocker like the hell bents, they don't wash out on me, making them work pretty well on the groomers when I need them to. Hell Bents are sweet, I just wouldn't personally be able to use them in their ideal conditions.

Ya me to, but go for obsetheds the new oneS look sick and are fatter next year but not ass flopy as the bents were at like the same width and rocker. And they still have some camber ( I think- please don't chew my head of). Personally Id go with benchetlers that's what I ride and there pretty sick for every thing esspesialy deep pow, but u can even carve super well on them ( for a pow ski )

If you want a ski that you can charge the fall line as hard as you can with absolute confidence, then you need obsethed. I got on my buddy's a couple weeks ago and was immediately sold. go 189 no question.

Both are fucking noodles, but Seths will be a much better all mountain ski. Hellbents wheelie out on drops to much and suck in crud. They are super in deep pow though.

what? hellbents do wheelie out on big drops a lot and they do suck in crud.. and they do kill it in the super deep.. so it seems like a fair review to me..

funny i always found i never wheelie out when i ski on a pair of Czars skis which have no tail rocker and are fairly stiff but when I'm on my EPs it happens way more.. Maybe, just maybe the ski does make a difference...

Basically you obviously CAN land without wheelie on any ski.. but if you don't think the ski makes a difference to how much support you get on landings then you are just plain wrong. There aren't many skis that give you less support if you get in trouble than hellbents.

Ya u guys who say they don't wheelie out are stupid. Watch a vid of a pro rider Rodin them they always wheelie the landing. Yes I can land centre but even if u land on the bolts flat u will be wheelieing a little
