Hope the spring skiing is treating you all well, aka park season.

Of course, this happens on my last run (even called second to last, skip the last.) Overshot Winter Park's biggest jump going for a 5. The jump is roughly 75 feet lip to knuckle, I took it ~85 to 90 ft. Over shot on the 540, took off backseat, took it to the face.

I got lucky... only a few stitches, some snow burn, and a bad black eye. My goggles probably saved me from losing my eye (shout out to Smith) and my helmet kept me from getting a concussion (Shout out to Bern).

Also, I want to give a huge thank you to the Winter Park Ski Patrol. Those guys were with me 20 seconds after the crash, took care of me quickly, and really handled the situation well. Could not have asked for some better professionals to entrust my care to.

Be careful out there kids, and don't get too amped up... always keep your speed and your skills in check late in the day. Our sport has inherent risks, and we need to manage them as best we can. Not gonna stop me from sending it, but I'll be spending more time at Woodward to get more balanced and have better air awareness for sure.

Again, thanks to all the products that minimized the damage, and the people who took care of me. Cheers.

due that sucks, but helmets only protect against minor impacts. I where a helmet all the time yet I still managed to have 5 concussions. and if the jump was 75 ft. and you went from 80-95, 80 to 85 is the sweet spot anything above that is pushing it

vibes for a speedy recovery man!
(you look like a chemical burn victim of you dont mind a joke :p)

Vibes man.

I wish I had a picture of my face after I broke my jaw 2 weeks ago. It looked pretty fucked haha

I wish I could post a pic of when I got hit in the face with a ski but it's on my old phone and it got deleted... I split my lip the whole way past the actual lip and it was just separated like a flap... 16 stitches.

"Looks like somebody has a case of the Mondays" At least you have a good story to tell your coworkers. Heal up fast and get back out there!

No fucking way in hell you have 5 concussions. 3 is like the max one person should have in their life and if they go over that usally they would be advised by their doctor to stop particpating in the activity. Plus if you had around 5 your brain would be fucked up and you would be smart enough not to ski in the park again because there is a chance that the next big bang to your head will possibily killy you!

Yes, I'm in the cube... I do get to work remotely sometimes though... tomorrow will be one of those days.

Thanks for the vibes folks, be careful out there. No TPS reports for me, but I do work for a company that processes a bilion transactions a day... so we do have TPS reports ;P

This is complete bullshit.I have a friend who has had 5 concussions. 4 from Lacrosse, and 1 from boxing with his friend. He does bad in school and is stupid but he was like that before his concussions. And he's not like mentally retarded or anything.

BUT, it is all dependent on the degree of concussion. For example: Pekka Hyysalo. He got an awful concussion and if he got another major one he would be screwed.

Winter parks jump? Which one? The one that requires a park pass? Because its not 75 feet, it's like 30. And sorry about your face
