Obermeyer drops Team O

Hey All.I just want to let you all know that Obermeyer has dropped, or will be dropping their ski team, such as Peter O, Henrik L., Mike O, and others.My mom is a rep for them and has told me this. They will continue their park ski wear, just no team.

their team was never anything special.

it is unfortunate though.

do you know if theyre going to rebuild with some AMs?
 
ya team kinda sucked.back in the day it was legit.but uhh, i used to be on the am team, and i got offered a spot on salomons team, and my mom didnt care, so i took advtg of it and got outta there. sso to answer ur ?, no they wont be building a am team.
 
That is stupid. Regardless of what you thought of their actual teams talent, they now create a product and market it towards us without giving anything back to the sport.

 
Spot on. Skiers are eventually going to need to unionize! Not too many companies understand the value of their athletes.
 
THey have no money guys. and their product is beginning to suck.believe me, i have sat in meetings with Klaus Obermeyer, and watched his sadness towards the company.
 
^Its pretty simple if the just start making purple clothes they well sell. Salomon is gonna sell the Don jacket like crazy. Obermeryer just needs more baggy stuff and more style
 
they just have a lack of ideas.like i walked into the office in aspen one time, walked by someones desk and he was on the Spyder website, they dont have any money, or ideas of their own.
 
see they have thought about linking up with other companies for good designs, but they dont have the money to even do that.
 
the economy blows and finding money is tough nowadays. It sucks but they probably had to cut it out so they could still make product
 
why the fuck is everybody dropping peter when he's killin it so hard in the pipe? first salomon now obermeyer? you kiddin me?
 
agreed. i have a pair of revert pants and they're sick, but the new colors just don't do it. the past two seasons, everything has been black, white, gray, or earthtone of some sort, which is just not cutting it. their stuff was sick when it was all sorts of obnoxious colors before anyone else was really doing that.
 
Heres a idea they could team up with either saga or LD and offer up there waterproofing and there manufacturing with sagas ideas. Then the small company would get a boost and Obermyer could make a park line that sells.
 
except for unless the deal is a great deal for saga i can hardly see saga wanting to get bought out right when they are starting to make some skrillas instead of waiting a few more years for the company to level out in terms of growth.
 
Threads like this are why no one should ever drop a ski team. We should make a NS ski team (not that you guys have the resources) just to give Olenick a chance he's a legit skier just on a bad drift thats all.
