....Obama sees himself as a reformer in every aspect, he has run on the platform of "social reform" "governmental reform", we've all heard that stuff, make life equally better for the people, give people who have been making excuses not to work hard benefits, etc. rid the gov. of corruption, less lobbyists etc. Obama's campaign was hit hard with this economic strife b/c now he not only has to become an social/governmental reformer, but an economic reformer as well. The tides have significantly turned on Mr. Obama, b/c apparently he had his presidency planned out, then problems with the economy began...
So what we have here is a man who is expecting his presidency to be determined by his own actions, but due to this situation Obama's actions have to be reactionary to the changing environment, in other words...the presidency is now making the president.
So now why so much bullshit in this "economic" stimulus? is it the same bullshit that he platformed himself on during his campaign? why yes! $100's of millions of dollars for programs that wont help the economy but willl make peoples "lives" better? food stamps for the poor, programs to get people to stop smoking, $$ for renovations on indian reservations, all this other bullshit. Stuff that wont help the economy, so my theory (actually just thought of it) is that Obama isn't saying anything about lobbyists getting involved with this bill, isn't looking over the unneeded programs on this bill, and i mean the sheer amount of money that is going towards things other than the economy and things associated with it. Obama is using this stimulus bill as an excuse to make social/governmental/infrastructural reform. I mean think about it, what does a president need in order to fulfull his ambitions and all the promises he made during his campaign? "redefine the american dream" and all that? money! And when the health of the economy comes into play i think that people are less likely to pay attention to the cost of it b/c they are to focused on how much we need it.
So the result is a plan that has, as we see here, this much amount of pork, and bullshit, and retarded ideas. I mean after this bill where's obama gonna get the money for the rest of his programs? so he's allowing every bullshit rhetoric program that he talked about on his campaign to be made a reality through millions and millions of dollars.
But why eh? Obama can't adapt to the environment. He still wants to look into a mirror and see "a man of the people", "a social reformer" etc. He can't be who the country needs him to be apparently, so he's trying to be what he promised us to be. and like i said, he's using fake bipartisanship to get all this done, no wonder republicans are so angry.
