People have already elevated him to an almost God-like, national hero, superstar level and it is really getting on my nerves. Don't get me wrong, I really wish he does well and makes America a better place, but come on people... he hasn't done anything yet. I'm all for him, but let's wait until he actually does great things before we suck his dick. cheers

yes, it symbolizes the fact that black people are truly equal to white people, but its not like black people, today, are as marginalized as they used to be decades ago. For me, the fact that he is black, white, yellow, or brown doesn't really change a thing. I want to see what he will do as a president, for the country.

hahaha yes well played, but im speaking in a non-political voice here. look how fucked up black people were treated 50 years ago and now look at what america has managed to pull off. we have chosen a black man to lead our country and that is saying something HUGE.
I didn't vote for obama because he's black, I actually liked his policies and how he is now ramping up the taxing on the people that can take it the most-the wealthiest 5% of americans. I like how he is not stubborn like bush is and is willing to work with other countries to create peace. I like a bunch of other shit that ive said a billion other times before while debating with skiminnesota over the past year or so.

I think it's interesting that politicians tend to get following of faith and this is a bad thing--coming from a nation who can't figure out whether evolution or creationism ought to be taught in schools.
 
I agree with you here, kind of. I think most people want his administration to do that, but only a select few realize that its not possible. What I think will really happen or hope to happen is that he can make improvements in our government etc. but it will be a gradual fix over the years, maybe not in his years in office. But I think he will set it up so that later presidents can ultimately change what we need to change.
