Yes, let's do an even better job of shifting the tax burden primarily to middle class Americans. The rich clearly aren't rich enough. Will they have to pay retail taxes on the slaves they purchase?

i really dont like any of the candidates. the democrats are all proposing plans that are completely out of the question, and the republicans are gonna keep the war going. i think im just gonna move to canada next year. at least there its cold and i can ski a lot more....

Interesting point. They'd have to highly regulate internet commerce, and no matter what they did there would be a huge underground market for illegal tax-free transactions.
 
I like him better than hillary. He seems to cross party lines. I liked Romney and Paul but obviously neither of them are getting elected anytime soon.

here's how tax works in my view. ur part of a group, and u chip in with a lil bit of wut u make. if u make more than everyone else, u give lil more, so that it evens out. if u dont make that much, then u pay less, and it helps ur case a bit. if u dont want to chip in, get the fuck out
 
One thing I really don't like about Hillary is that she will most likely promote lobbyist control in the White House because of her close ties with Wall Street.
 
Hillary's plan for healthcare reforms is vital to our country. But electing her is electing a whole host of problems too. Add in a better healthcare plan on Obama and I'd be happy.

And yeah, theres no way it will be Obama/Clinton or vice versa, its Obama/Edwards or Clinton/Edwards. I think the latter would actually lose to McCain if republicans rally to try and keep her out of the white house.

but i saw Obama on 60 minutes today and he is incredibly articulate and has excellent morals as a politician which i find incredible in this day and age.

Why wouldnt you want affordable healthcare? A universal system would ensure that everyone doesnt have to pay up the ass if you get sick. Elective choice in paying for this will only get us back to where we are now. I think healthcare should be like schools - the state provides a pretty good system that everyone pays for because its really in all of our interests for everyone to have access to healthcare. If you want a special school or hospital, then sure, go right ahead, but those options will often be more costly.
 
exactly. for some unfortunate people, any kind of unnecessary expenditure is absolutely out of the question. obama realizes this and does not force them to pay for something they can't afford, in hopes that someday they will be able to. hillary will be forcing this people to somehow pay for this, when they should be spending what little money they have on things immediately necessary like food, clothing, etc.
 
... I'm not sure really how to answer this, if you're broke I think you usually worry about things like food and housing first.

But I do get what you're going at. Paying for the system. Waste in this countries medical system is rampant. Reorganizing and making a directed effort to revamping the system would save millions. But, yes, it will cost the average Joe to have this system. Guess what - low taxes are killing our country. If we want to improve things, we're going to have to pay more, and thats that. Any politician that states they'd be cutting taxes from where they are now is foolish. We can't have this system work out so that its free, but its a vital necessity for our country.

Also, we can hook up Iraq and Afghanistan with universal healthcare systems with our war spending, but we're too cheap to do it at home? Fuck, at this rate, Mexico will have a better system in place before we get around to it.
