3 reason I support Obama

FIRST - He voted not to fund our troops, which implies that he did not agree with the war, which I a really good selling point when you're the person that has to deal with all the people that hate us for going to way. Hillary can't say that.

SECOND - His healthcare plan makes sense. u can't universalize healthcare for a few reasons. 1) not everyone will purchase it, even when it's mandated, and you can't mandate the purchase of anything, that's unconstitutional 2) where's the money gonna come from? really how are we going to revamp medicare and medicaid when we can't even figure out social security for the next few years. oh, and teachers are struggling to make ends meet, which means lots of money is going to have to go into education. plus everything else this country has to spend on (disasters, war, deficit, economy crash, subsidizing energy independent solutions, etc). barack's plan is based off of making it more affordable, so it benefits both the people and the drug company. we need to benefit companies when our economy is in a recession 3) it serves the same purpose as hillary's, which is to get affordable coverage to anyone who wants it, and its not so complicated, which means easier to pass in congress and easier to get to the person who needs it

THIRD he's smart and a fuckin g about it. he's worked for the poor in chicago and made his way to the white house, unlike pretty much anyone who ran who started out with a really successful job in order to work their way up in society and then run for office. his actions prove that he has the best of intentions. he has worked for the people, so whats to stop him now. bottom line I TRUST HIM, which I NEVER thought i'd say about a presidential candidate
 
romney would have been a disaster. if you guys think the world hates you now, you have no idea how much they ould have hated you if you elected the guy who thinks we should "double guantanamo".

im no supporter of the gop, but im glad mcain is the candidate. i can at least respect him and his views.

but man would i love to see obama win. in one election, you guys could totally change the way the world views your country. i hope you make the right choice.

and for point number 2 of yours - you are mandated to buy car insurance.

also, where's the money going to come from? where did the money for the iraq war come from? out of thin air, thats where the money for health care could come from. basically taxes will be raised, and people with higher risks will pay higher taxes.

but i agree, he is a very good candidate and he is an excellent speaker. he's not like "yayayayay im a democrat and dems will save the world", he's more like "with all your powers combined, i am barack obama"
 
i favour obama, but i dont mind if hilary wins. they are both good candidates, and as long as democrats win its all good. then again, why would i care, i'm canadian
 
absolutely, you hit the nail right on the head there. anyone who says obama is an insincere candidate obviously doesn't know his background, because he's been all about community service and volunteering to help the less fortunate his entire life, way before he was ever in the spotlight.
also correct about the health care plan, he wants to make it available to anyone who wants it, as opposed to hillary who is going to force everyone who doesn't want to pay for it, which like you said, is unconstitutional.
 
yeah, he's definately better than hillary, but they're both pretty bad.  obama wants to invade pakistan.  
 
he doesn't want to invade, he's just willing to leave the option open in the event that pakistan does not take any action against the al qaeda presence there, and we've been asking for quite awhile. he's obviously not pro-war, he's opposed the invasion of iraq from the start, but he does have a sense of what needs to be done eventually (getting rid of al qaeda).
 
There are many debatable reasons people can give for not wanting clinton

i think a very valid point is that if Hilary get's elected, we will have had Bush/Clinton since 1989, it's tough to call for change with history like that.

As far as mccain, i agree with alot of his standpoints (the ones that

gears is that through everything he still supports bush... I just dont

understand how its even fucking possible.

What i would REALLY liek to see is hillary and obama on one ticket. If

they could put their differences aside and do that id be very pleased.

Honestly it doesn't matter.

Successful politicians answer to the same people. And its not the American people.

However, we KNOW the Clintons are bought. We don't know so much about Obama, and he has shown up on the scene relatively recently, so there is a chance that he still answers to himself.

Not a very good chance though.

being prochoice isn't a question of wanting to kill babies, it's a question of whether u believe in the constitution, or whether u believe that killing a fetus is homicide

personally, i'm not too worried about the fetuses, i'd rather not have babies born whose mothers and fathers don't want them to be born, and the world's got way more pressing matters than worrying about fetuses

i've read the bible, and wut ur talking about my friend is more so old testament rather than new testament. new testament applies to now, and the real reason why it was made was for political reasons. the old testament got the jews all giddy, and they didn't want the jews, so they wrote a new one that applied to more ppl, with less hell uprising (not totally clean, but it wasn't really stressed, they dropped the 7 stages of hell thing and got just hell and purgatory, and they dropped limbo mid20th century) and more happiness. sorry to rain on ur bible parade, but it's not all it's shooed up to be

furthermore, christ is dead, so it's not like ne1 would make a point of being anti-christ, when we don't even know the person in the first place (again, cause he's been dead for a while, so nobody living could possibly have known him)

but giving ppl the choice to abort, give birth, adopt, and all that makes it way easier on everyone. u don't have to abort, if u want the child up for adoption, u can do that, too.

the notion that the one fetus u kill might cure cancer or otherwise have a profound affect is rather silly, it's not like sum1 is born with the ability, there are plenty of geniuses working on many perplexing things. no one person cures or solves anything.

einstein had an entire league of scientists working with him, and isaac newton was dealing with the religious constraints of his time by going the way of science rather than faith, not the difficulty of proving physics, he only documented the proof in methods for physics which is why he's well renown, there were many mathematicians that knew what he knew outside of the western world.

huckabee would abolish the income and property tax. those two taxes account for nearly every dime that goes to...

-public education

-social security

-healthcare

-wartime spending

-natural disaster relief

-subsidizing the farmers

if huckabee were in office, he'd want to effectively end all those good things.

other than his religious beliefs, why do u like huckabee? also, why do u believe that no income or property tax positively affects our country?

 
uhh, the fair tax eliminates thoes and instead has a nationwide sales tax.

There's a flaw to this idea. It requires consumption in order to maintain a stable tax, and a lot of it. If the economy is bad, as is right now, people won't want to spend. If they don't spend much, then the gov't doesn't get much tax, which means that in times of economic crisis, the gov't will not the have the funds to bail us out. The gov't has been the reason we have rebounded from recession every time we've had one. From the 16th amendment ratification in response to a debt from the Civil Way, to FDR's New Deal, right up to Clinton's expansion by recycling our tax dollars in the economy, the federal government has pulled our asses out of many recessions, and it needs the money to do that. Right now, we don't have that money, and look what's happening. The same thing would happen with a Fair Tax, which means not enough money to pull America out of a recession in times of need.

In no way can the gov't simply save anything it would get from a Fair Tax and wait for times of crisis, because we are already in one, so we need the federal government to get some funds, and the 16th amendment is the key to that.

Remember, the Fed (bank) is run by the gov't, and funded mostly by income tax. The Fed is what regulates money creation via interest rates, the system by how money is created via deposits and loans. If its banks and GSEs (like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) are empty, which they are now, there is no effective way to stimulate the economy via lowered interest rates, because the loaning services a virtually empty, defunct. Printing more money doesn't work for two reason, nobody wants cash nemore and it spikes inflation. Hitler printed more money, then his economy crashed, and since he was on top, he had rule over a really weak and uninformed people of Germany, and wreaked havoc, as we well know.

Also a huge problem, we would have a ratify a new amendment for the Fair Tax to be initiated, because, as of right now, only states are allowed to impose a sales tax (constitution). This would take much time, filibustering, and probably wouldn't pass in a Democratic congress. Right now, we have to act quickly, we don't have time to filibuster and try to pass the Fair Tax, something that will deeply divide the country.

The Fair Tax sounds like a great idea, because most people don't understand how the economy, the federal gov't, the state gov't, the constitution and the basic system of taxation work together. The above would get you an A on macroeconomics papers.
 
They would lose. Easily. Many will not vote for Hillary to be in the White House. If it's McCain v. Obama/Edwards they have a much better chance because then Edwards could grab some of the southern vote who is loyal to him and help them see through Obama's blackness. Obama Edwards is the best shot if Dems want to take control of the WH again.
