Obama Believes He Can’t Be Wrong.

He "allowed it to happen" because he knew that the government couldn't do a dam thing about it. Government regulation isn't the answer to these kind of problems in our economy like many think. All it does is slow things down which is never a good thing. What we should do is let the economy regulate the economy, and if anything than the governments only job should be to monitor whats going on it. Yes, monitor (not the same as regulate) because this will remove all the red tape that the government burdens business's with. And it'd be one thing if the government out red tape around the business's that have fucked up, but why are they putting it on the business's that have done nothing wrong? Doing it as a precaution is just dumb because it does what I previously stated, slows things down. Monitoring business activity would remove the need to have that precaution which in turn would speed things up and a faster business equals better business.

I also wanted to add that the pro-obama media out there are starting to become desperate in terms of excuses for why Obama said what he did in his "you didn't build that speech." For example, professional journalists of New York magazine writes:
Mitt Romney’s plan of blatantly lying about President Obama’s “you didn’t build that” speech is clearly drawing blood. But what makes the attack work so well is not so much the lie itself but the broader subtext of it…The key thing is that Obama is angry, and he’s talking not in his normal voice but in a “black dialect.” This strikes at the core of Obama’s entire political identity: a soft-spoken, reasonable African-American with a Kansas accent. From the moment he stepped onto the national stage, Obama’s deepest political fear was being seen as a “traditional” black politician, one who was demanding redistribution from white America on behalf of his fellow African-Americans.”That’s correct. If you now oppose the President because you were angry about that speech …then you are a racist. You must have been offended by his ‘black dialect’, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the content of his insult. We must still be the racist ones. What is interesting is the fact that Chait actually pointed out Obama’s ‘black dialect’. Most conservatives didn’t even take that into account, but were simply angry that the Obama decided to verbally tear down that which they’ve risked and poured their hearts and souls to build. But no – we must still be the racist ones.

It would also be one thing if it were only members of the media playing the race card, but that is sadly not the case because there are elected officials playing it as well. For example, State Senator Louise Lucas who is a member of Obamas 'Truth Team', was quoted saying "Mitt Romney, he’s speaking to a segment of the population who does not like to see people other than a white man in the White House or in any other elective position." Holy crap, the people who voted this women into office must either completely regret doing so, or be just as dumb as her. This just goes to show how ignorant some americans are because this kind of statement in this day in age is flat out retarded and wrong. How about we stop this thought of if you're a conservative than you must be a member of the KKK (cough.....cough..... Senator Louise Lucas).

Welll the guy who wrote that is an idiot and so are you. The Obama speech being bad is complete BS end of story.

Was his speech bad? No it wasn't bad at all in terms of how well he read it off the teleprompter.
Was the content of his speech bad? Well I guess thats up to you, but just note that there are millions of people out there (business owners, entrepreneurs, people who work for business's, etc) who think that it was atrocious.

My dad is an entrepreneur, and to say he "built" his small company off of nothing but himself would be a complete lie. He got help from his family his friends, his teachers in school, his parents, the government and many other people. Let this thread die though, I have clearly posted too many times here trying to argue with you (not to say you haven't posted too many times in this thread (4 pages of paragraphs convincing us to not vote for Obama)) and agree with others who have already stopped arguing with you. We clearly don't agree on this matter and you are a stubborn supporter of former governor Mitt Romney, some of your posts being idiotic almost de-legitimizes Romney as a candidate, just as some retard supporters did to Ron Paul and somewhat Obama. I have deleted this from my threads so Peace!

OP:

"Too much and too long, we seem to have surrendered community excellence

and community values in the mere accumulation of material things. Our

gross national product ... if we should judge America by that - counts

air pollution and cigarette advertising, and ambulances to clear our

highways of carnage. It counts special locks for our doors and the jails

for those who break them. It counts the destruction of our redwoods and

the loss of our natural wonder in chaotic sprawl. It counts napalm and

the cost of a nuclear warhead, and armored cars for police who fight

riots in our streets. It counts Whitman's rifle and Speck's knife, and

the television programs which glorify violence in order to sell toys to

our children.

"Yet the gross national product does not allow

for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the

joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the

strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the

integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our wit nor our

courage; neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor

our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except

that which makes life worthwhile. And it tells us everything about

America except why we are proud that we are Americans."

- Robert F. Kennedy Address, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, March 18, 1968

Looks like you're trying to change the subject away from Obama's woeful economic (mis)management...

By the way, where does RFK mention cosying up to the bankers? I must have missed that part...

So if by this you're saying that government regulation "makes life worth while" than I respectfully disagree. In fact, I don't agree with what RFK said at all after reading that quote multiple times. If he considers americans speaking up about the rising expense of our material things the surrender of our community excellence and community values than he has forgotten that Americans strive for a high quality of life and our material things give us this.
If our gross national product didn't provide our childrens health care than what does? I know that I get my health care through the profits that the business I work for makes. If my employer didn't contribute to our gross national product than they would in turn go broke, which would in turn jeopardize my health care.
Everything that he said our gross national product doesn't allow for could be disputed against because it actually does in some form or another.
I consider skiing a sport that makes life worth while but if it weren't for the ski resort companies offering their mountains as their product than I'd loose something that makes my life worth while. The same goes for the companies that make the skis and the companies that make the cars so I can get to the mountain.
See its the other way around right now, for too much and too long, we americans have surrendered to an ideology that is more concerned with the overall well-being of our community, which in turn has threatened the cost of our gross national product.

Why does the government feel that they have the power to enforce regulations on something just because someone fucked up with or in that something yet don't see any consequences for when they fuck up with something? Their reaction, or shall I say over reaction to an unfortunate event is to automatically form some sort of legislation around it so that it doesn't happen again. For example, there are some in congress who all of a sudden want to form legislation to restrict gun ownership just because of the recent shooting in colorado. Now Im not saying that what happened wasn't unfortunate and sad, what I am saying though is that a law couldn't of prevented it from happening because the people like James Holmes that commit these acts of senseless violence obviously have no problem breaking the law (aka committing murder).
Its like the saying, just because one person fucked up doesn't mean that you have to fuck it up for everyone else because thats exactly what I regulation does, fuck it up for every body else. What is absent and needs to be adopted as a mentality in this country is that we need to stop letting the government get by for when they fuck something for everyone else and give them a taste of their own medicine.
In short, we need to form regulation on the governments regulation because they are currently not paying the consequences for their negative actions.

RockHeads = new worst political thread participator on NS. Good effort dude, now let this die, and create another dumb thread in a few days.

Just another typical liberal response to someone that goes against what they believe in. What else do you expect though, everything those on the right say is considered to be dumb to those on the left and vice versa. I guess everyone is just a stubborn jack ass no matter what side their on.
But in all seriousness, wake up and smell the coffee Ben. There are people out there who have been living in a nightmare by no fault of there own because of this economy so they should have every right to say whats on their mind. I just happen to be one of these people who have been seriously affected by the economy so what do you expect me to do? Just sit here with my thumb up my ass and let those who considered themselves to be educated discuss our problems? Now I may or may not have the amount of education others have, but I am most definitely educated in experiencing the affects of this economy because I have and I am in many different ways.
This is why I feel that what I have to say is valid because with experience comes education and I have had far TOO much experience. Our country is blind because we value a degree more than we value ones experience despite the fact that experience, in my humble opinion, is the better educator. I am a person that has had both an education through my experiences with the affects of this economy and I am in the process of finishing my college education. So I can attest to the fact that experience is indeed the better of the two educations, because with experience comes the pressure of reality, which is something the classroom doesn't really have. Remember though, the pressure of getting good grades in school is nothing compared to the pressure of experience, like the experience of having to find a way to pay for the roof above my head. That kind of pressure makes the pressure created by school seem nonexistent.

You use "liberal" as a bad word. We're not all bad debators who have drunken orgies with minorities, just so you know.

35op82.jpg

I use the word "liberal" as label for the group of people in this country who believe in a liberal ideology, just like everyone else does. I don't label them as democrats like some do because of the simple fact that there are some people in this country who consider themselves to be liberal, but do not label themselves as a democrat.

Nope, just think you have no idea what you are talking about, and fail to put together a good coherent argument.

There are some conservative folks on this site that can do that. Unfortunately for you, you lack that skill.

But please, continue your tirade. Also feel free to vote for Romney, let me know how much he has reduced the debt, and how much better your life is when hes president.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We might as well have Romney in the office because pretty much anyone would do a better job than Obama. Im mean, it would be difficult to do a worse job than he has. And yes, by that I mean he is the worst president in American history and their are dozens of facts to prove it. Like the fact that he has nearly doubled the amount of debt that Bush had at the end of his second term, and Obama did this is in three years! Now its beyond me to why some americans out there think that this isn't a bad thing, because how could it not be?
How about we stop wondering why our economy is in the shitter and consider the idea that it could be because of our governments uncontrollable spending and their addiction with red tape. The fact that 40 cents of every dollar goes to the an incredibly broke government is fucking stupid, especially since they think that it is alright to still be spending money at a record pace.

actually thats not true

the federal reserve has the most direct power in the economy

the president and congress can cause minor fluctuations but the fed controls everything

Yeah, how about we cut back that military budget.

Seriously shut the fuck up until you realize you do not know a damn thing, and I'm not trying to imply that I do.

His $800 billion stimulus package didn't do shit, and wants to do it again if re-elected. Thats bullshit. Way to much money in to little time. He's been the most expensive president in US history.

That is so incredibly ass backwards. I seriously can't consider anything that post as an intelligent argument after reading that.

Men and women of third world countries, that have next to nothing, are some of the happiest, proud, and spirited people you will ever encounter. They make middle class Americans look like lifeless zombies.

I see you have yet to learn that there is much more to life than just money and material objects.

You're missing the point dude.

Rockheads specifically mentioned quality of life. He wasn't talking about happiness. And, he is absolutely right. Material wealth is the biggest contributor to quality of life.

Think about it. What gives your life the quality it has? Material things, along with their relevent technology; the roof over your head, the clothes on your back, your various electronic appliances, your abundant food supply, telecommunications etc.

Don't conflate 'material wealth' with excessive, American-style consumerism...

Ok man, now we're just getting into semantics.

I believe Rockheads was referring to my definition, which is far more practical and measurable than some happiness-based one (not that happiness isn't important, of course).

Okay so that apply's to third world countries then, not America. I have had the fortunate "experience" of traveling to what we would consider to be third world countries and Im sorry, but I would much rather live in a legit house with a legit roof than I a shack made out of tin. So call me a lifeless all you want, but I can guarantee that you'd be on too if you saw the filth these grateful, third world country citizens live in. I'd bet that you only last 8 or 9 steps in New Delhi before you'd turn for the airplane because the stink of that city makes many from the outside world puke when the first enter it.
I know that their is much more to life than just money, but I also know that having money makes life a hell of a lot easier. Just another belief I have based off experience.

Exactly. And this will be my shortest post in this entire thread because it is my first time seeing someone tell like it is. I like to call this pulling a Ron Paul.

I'm inclined to disagree with this, just like LIL_WAT said.

BreadMold, I have seldom read such inane crap as what you've posted throughout this thread. American or not, don't limit yourself or others by classifying ideas and motivations under the oh-so-large umbrella of liberal/democrat - republican/conservative and disregarding opinions due to that fine line. It's almost offensive to anyone outside such a shallow political spectrum, it's buzzword semantics.

Hahaha... trying to sound well-travelled and knowledgeable by snubbing on New Delhi, on people you have never met, on a skiing site full of people who probably have the means to travel? And you pull the stink card out of the pack? Jesus fucking Christ.

Also, learn the difference between 'there' and 'their', you repeat that mistake way too often and it's a fucking eyesore.

do you know any good books to read about the federal reserve? id like to know more about it but not have what im reading/watching be biased

The Creature from Jekyll Island is a good one. Definitely biased, but well sourced and incredibly detailed.

I mean, people should be supporting him because it's the only way to truly treat the global economic crisis... Ideally, Americans would be more educated about it, and demand more from Obama (or any other candidate) because he certainly isn't perfect. Neither is the system of government/economy that he operates in. But people simply don't care about economics or politics because they think it's boring...

Like, shit, just vote for him because the opponents are bloody horrid!

Romney would just be exacerbating the inevitable.

No way. You can't spend your way out of debt. You can't red-tape your way out of unemployment. And you can't tax-the-rich your way to prosperity. End of story.

For real, structural and ground-breaking change you should vote for Ron Paul.

Yeah I pull out the stink card because that was my first experience with Delhi. And how do you know what my means of travel are? I have better means of travel than most people, even the president himself, because I have the benefit of traveling for free. See my dad is an airline pilot and that is one of the perks of the job. So because of this, I have gotten to travel to six different continents and have gotten to see how other parts of the world ACTUALLY live. Unlike a lot people here in America who think they know what its like because they saw some liberal bias documentary in some liberal bias college course they took. Of course THERE are some exceptions to this scenario, but I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen this happen at the school I attend. All of these students are just taking in the liberal crap our universities are spoon feeding us these days. You really cant blame them though because a lot of these students are too narrow-minded to go get info from another source other than the one they have in class (which 9 out of 10 times is an extremely liberal professor). And we wonder why our youth are so fucking liberal these days? Well THERES you're fucking answer.
