dude chill. I wasnt dissing you at all. Oakley makes good products, but they excert a nazi-esque control over their brand name. Unless you can impress a rep in a comp and they initiate contact with you, i doubt you can get anywhere.
plus, if they just made a place where you could just submit stuff, they would probably be inundated with so much stuff that they would be overwhelmed and not be able to process anything. i mean, come on, who doesnt want to be sponsored by oakley?
but oakley has the same quality equipment as many other companies and those other companies have an open invitation for sponsorship resumes and even some state that there is no room availabe but they will still accept resumes for "future reference"
you wont get a hold of anyone at oakley headquarters about sponsorship, so dont bother trying. the only way you will get somewhere is through your local oakley rep, who would be able to pass on whatever it is you give them to the appropriate people.
if you can't figure out how to go about getting sponsored, perhaps you're too much of a bucket head to get sponsored in the first place. think it threw, newton
Wow, lots of hate in this thread. The dude that said get in touch with your local Oakley rep is the smartest one. Thats how all their dealio yo yos begin. Are you on a shop team that stocks Oakley gear? What coverage can you offer the brand?
The local rep idea is money. You sound like you are sure, but you need to remember that sponsorship is all about what can you do for them? If you can do a lot, then you are worth it.
ya same thing happend to me dude just email it threw there customer survace and they will dump it or pass it on to the right people its a 50/50 chance thats what im doin anyway
I dunno about skiing, but one of my friends got sponsored by them for mtn biking, and he got his buddy hooked up with them too. From that experience you just need to know a rep or someone involved (and be good/have some results)
