Oakley red cam + skateboarding

shit, this is taking forever to load. i don't want to play it beforehand because i hate pauses in epic edits.

^ I was waiting for you to say that shit wasn't HD. That's an amazing camera though, and there was something I really liked about that edit. When he grinded that wavy garden post, that was the sickest part

Sorry, when i make a post about HD, i actually know what im talking about. Good try though.

that was beautiful, you could see each individual bearing in the wheel rolling and that slide on the garden divider, wow

watch the pigeon in the first shot, and you will be like, umm wow this camera is the best thing ever made

just lookin in the background of every shot was the best part. like when he slides the planter thing there is a sea gull in the background and watching it fly is fuckin amazing.

It's amazing you can get that from a $30,000 set up, much cheaper than the past.

It's taking so long to load i just want to watch it. But pausing sucks. I hope i am blown away as much as you guys are. What does the camera look like? I've never heard of it before.

they are making some, like the scarlet and the epic, that will be very comparable in quality and awesomeness as this camera. check it out, they are like 3000 dollars and 4000 dollars

am i the only one that thinks its good but not absolutely blown away

if that's really 30,000 than i'd def spend my money on something else

even 3,000 i'd go for a different cam, maybe

my opinion

from my understanding though, you pay 17000 dollars for the camera and build from there.
so you have a box that interprets all the data and what not, but it has no lens, and no recording device. Its pretty awesome to watch, but i think its still premature to think about in terms of amateur or even semi-pro use.

I am just assuming that you do not film a whole lot but if I am wrong, forgive me.

As a filmer you spend a lot of time looking at footage and you can tell the difference between, say a 7 grand camera like the hvx and the 30 G's for a red camera.

This footage is comparable to actual movie cameras which cost way more then 30 g's and are way more maneuverable then a movie camera.

Same here, I thought it was good but not like blow my mind good. Maybe its because my screen is like 1680 x 1050 so it doesn't look as good as it would blown up on a smaller screen

Well its because you have no idea what you're talking about.

Shit is like a 100,000+ dollar cinema camera but its 30,000 and its not massive and can be hand held not on a track or something.

there gonna be like 3000 fall 09, but you need to drop like 5000 on shit for it, but still for less than 10,000 it is amazing

yeah...i dont know.

it was really cool, but like..not as life changingly awesome as i expected it to be. If you hadnt had told me that he was using a RED camera, I honestly wouldnt have been that impressed, and I know alot about cameras. dont get me wrong, it was sick. but not THAT sick

just my two cents. im sure eheath will quote me, question my sexuality, and degrade me. and I am prepared for that.

word i was expecting a lot more. but now that i think of it the footage was pretty much like me actually being there.

ill footy, would like to see the raw footage on a hdtv for sure.

does anyone know who the skater was i couldnt figure it out.

the quality is great and all but the filming was meh. i wasnt impressed at all except for the one shot where they go to the sky the the dude gets off the bench then he comes in and hits the bumpy garden rail. really shaky too, should get it on a glide cam or something. i dunno. quality = impressive filming = not so much.
