I'm looking at getting a pair of Oakley mx crowbars for my friend, and so I'm wondering if anyone has any info on how these are? Are the dark grey lenses like the snow goggles or are they mirrored? What cool colorways are out there? i have a feeling not many people are going to have much info, so anything would be appreciated, even just a bump for karma. thanks guys

are you intending on using them for skiing? because that is a bad idea. they dont have the same anti fog, and they are not spherical lenses.
If for MX, i dont know what to tell ya, i would guess the dark grey would be the same darkness as the snow lens, but not sure.

i guess it would be a bonus if they could be used for skiing, but thats definitely not what hes going to be using for the majority of the time, mostly riding downhill and endurance motorcycle rides/ races.

i'm dont think oakley makes a full reflective MX google, if it says its reflective its probably not as reflective as you think.

get crowbars tho, they are awesome they fit to your face great

ya i acually would rather not have the reflective look, so thats why i was asking if the dark grey was similar to the ski version. just tinted i guess would be best, but either way thats not a main concern because there only 8 bucks for a lens haha.

MX goggles usually don't have much mirror in them. They are designed cheaper due to the fact that you're taking dirt to the face rather than snow. If you are wondering whether you will be able to see his eyes through the mirrored, then yes you most likely will.

I have had my Crowbar MX goggles for 3-4 years now. I would recommend picking up a pack of frosted grey lenses (called smoke?). The goggle fits great, the outriggers are a nice addition as they help fit a full face helmate better. Overall, I would definitely recommend them to a friend. Also, I have ridden them in rainy, wet and muddy west coast wether, dry and dust conditions in Nevada and everything in between. Never have I been disappointed.

I'm pretty sure (could be wrong) but a lot of Oak MX gogs only had a single lens are were much more prone to fogging up when you used them for skiing. Also they fit my face weird when i tried them on.

ive got these ones for biking and theyre great. never had um fog and they keep the wind out well. work ok for skiing as well

the lenses are different for snowsports the lenses are layered and have the antifog materials, for mx gogs the lenses are just one layer.

which one?

and his suit and bike are orange, silver and black but he liked the murdered look i guess.

ive been racing motocross for about 5 years and had many pairs of oakleys they are great goggles but i do not like them at all for mx, the crowbar is a big goggle for a helmet i love scott goggles and they much more affordable. but for tints they have alot of diffrent dont get the irridum ones they offer on the site they scratch extremly easy as far as mirror lense the Persimmon lense its real good for a lens its cheap and mirrors up when sunny and dulls out when overcast.
if your going to buy him those goggles get him a set of Pro stack tear offs a must for dirtbikeing they are the Laminated tears offs. they are much more superior to individual tears off cause it doesnt look like your looking through the bottom of a beer mug.

I've never had Oakley MX goggles, but really love my Fox Main Pros. They run cheaper than Oakleys and you can get mirrored lenses for them ($30) if you want. I run a non-mirrored blue lens ($5) and they are perfect for the sunny days here in Utah. The lenses are really tough, and they are really comfortable, with excellent field of view. Just thought I would chime in as an idea because I am very happy with them.

alright so i think im getting the orange and white ones i posted with the dark gray lens, just from oakley's site. should be good
