ok so i dont know much about oakley goggles and the search bad did me no good...

i know that like fire lens are good for sunny days
and black irid

and permision isnt so great, but what about all those other lens that oakley has? is there really a need for all of them? and what are they all good for?

like pink irid?
vr28?
high yellow?
blue irid?

is there really a need for that many lenses or is it all just what you like better on your face?

sorry for the noob post.... dont tear me to shreds

but thanks and + karma for those who enlighten me about all this stuff!!

black, fire, blue, vr28, gold- all good sun specific lenses- suck balls in low visibility
hi-yellow- solely super whiteout days, don't use in sun, they hurt your eyes
hi-persimmon-persimmon on sterioids- my favorite lens by far, great for flat-no light, and it does pretty well in sun also
pink iridium, g30- kind of all around lenses, pink is a good all around, g30 is weird, but not geared for sun
clear- well, clear
hi-amber polarized- sickest lens, all around kinda, good in everything w/ good sun protection
grey polarized- it makes it look like it's night out, super good sun lens

i have 3 lenses, black irid, hi-yellow, and hi-persimmon and i'm happy

ya, if you were to have multiple lenses, id say to have black irdium and pink iridium. black for sun and in between, pink for flat or night. at least thats what i like the best.

^^yea pink looks sick but i've found the hi intensity lenses are better for no visibility because they reflect the light off the snow and you can see much better. pink is kind of like persimmon how it's light but not reflecting so not as good for serious whiteout but a great night lens nonetheless

what are they good for aside from night?
i mean they're clear.....so it's like skiing w/ no lens + wind protection

I have pinks. They are basically a better persimmon that doesn't have that really strong orange tint to it. They are good for everything but sunny days.

thats the point. theres no funky tinting, some people like seeing what the eye would usually see at night.

If you cut the BS, pink is basically a clear iridium lense. Clear is good for everything except sun, and you see shit how it really is.

Truth. But in the sun it is probably a bit better, because of the coating. I dunno if that is true, but if Oakley isn't lying by saying iridium does something, then it should be right.

not really, you can see quite a bit more w/ a blue irid lens on a low visibility day. i would say blue is more comparible to gold irid.

I've got 4 lenses. Fire I use on the sunny days, Persimmon and Hi-yellow on low light, and Clear at night. I use the Hi-yellow when I'm racing at night (it highlights the gates and edging tracks). Great lenses.

I use pink iridium for all conditions and I find it great.

Sure when its bluebird the glare can get pretty major, but as said above, you get used to it.

A really good all-round lens, and if i were to get another lens for sun then it would be blue/black iridium
