Oakley lens leak

I have had 4 lenses in total from Oakley. 2 for my old A-frames (the second one was to replace the first messed up one), and 2 for my Crowbars (second one is just a pink irid to replace the persimmon that it came with).

2 of those lenses had the exact same problem. Moisture got in between the dual plate lenses, and fogged really bad. They would be on my face for about a minute, and they'd fog right away.

I heard that Oakley lenses were really good, but 2 of 4 lenses were bad.

Anyone else have this problem with any lenses? Any solutions? Whether Oakley is a bitch about warranty?

ive never had the problem between the lens but just on the inside from hiking rails and wut not.

MAYBE: put them infront of a heater such as a coal stove, wood stove, etc..

but thts just a maybe. goodluck

i had this problem with my HI Yellow wisom lens from last season. I just sent it to Oakley and got new ones. But yes I have had that problem also.

Cool, so it's not just me. Kinda weird that these lenses do that, though...

The condensation does leave after a while, but the fact is that is supposed to be a vacuum in between the 2 lenses, so even after it's gone, it'll come right back.

Nice. So you just send it in and they send a new one back? Or is there an extra shipping charge or something else?

I called Oakley, the number is 800.431.1439. Select the wattanty option. Tell them what happen and they will give you a RA number. You pay for shipping there and they pay for return. They send you out a new lens.

ive also had 4 lenses 2 a-frames 2 crowbars

no problems with any...my hi intensity yello that i had with one of my Aframes fogged betwwen the lens twice but thats it

Oakley is very good about warrantying their lens. Just dont tell'em you bought the goggles/lens 2-3 years ago. Say you got them this year and they will ship you a new one pronto, They never ask for receipts if its lens problems anyways....

Ive had 2 crowbars lens get moisture in between the lenses in the past 2 years and each time I got a new replacement lens pretty quick....

These lenses aren't the 3 year old ones, these are the ones I just got about 2 weeks ago.

They charged me $30 just to judge the lens to see if they would send back some new ones. I dunno if that happened to you too...

I had the same problem with my a frames.

Also if you ever get even little bit of water on the inside of your lense DO NOT rub it off, just dap at it until it goes away. I fucked up 3 good lenses doing that.

I have had many a pairs of crowbars and I'm going to say it-their shitty. I hate them. You pay so much for a pair of goggles and you can't even rub the inside of the lens. I rub the shit out of my Anon lens, while it's wet, and yet they still never fog. Oakley isn't great for their snow goggles. MX goggles on the other hand are dope.

try putting it over a lightbulb, (not too near) and leaving it for a couple of hours. I think once the moisture gets out, you won't have the problem again. it worked for my friend's a-frames, but again, make sure it's not close enough to melt the plastic or warp it in any way.

I would think that it could get in again, couldn't it? My pairs that haven't had the problem have never had that problem, and both pairs that do have the problem had it happen really quickly. I think it's a defect, and Oakley just has lots of defect gogs.

But that could work at first, before sending them in to warranty. Thanks

haha, i did that exact thing today and was pretty pissed, it was just a persimmon lens so i wasnt that angry, but i was going skiing and you couldnt see through them so i just ripped off the inside clear lens, i thought they were gonna fog up real bad but they didnt fog up any more as when the inside lens was in it. this might be a sorta noob question but why do they have the second clear lens in them? like i thought that it was to prevent fogging, but after today, i dont see why they even have them? am i missing something?

i had the same problem and ditched those shitty a frames, and bought some real goggles: spy soldiers

Must have been just the right conditions to not fog. They'd fog a lot easier without the double lens. I'm pretty sure you just got lucky there. Nearly certain that the second lens prevents condensation from happening as easily.
