Oakley lens cleaning

so i tried cleaning one of my lens with water and then whiping them with the google case but now there is like a layer of crap all over the inside of the lens. u can like sratch it off and stuff but thats not really a good idea. wondering whats good to use on there to get it off. im trying windex but it just comes back after.
 
You my friend will never get that hazey type layer off your lense... They put some anti-fog coating or something that really smudges if you mess with them while wet. I pretty sure in the directions it says to leave them alone until there completely dry... I messed my Aframe lense the same way. I ended up making it a single lense and trust me that does not work that good with cold temps.
 
You my have gotten water between the two lenses, if so, you need a new one. If not, then you should be VERY careful while trying to blot off the smudges. You really shouldn't be doing anything w/ the inside of the lens cuz it has antifog on it. Hope this helps
 
i had this same thing happen to me. i found out there was a part in the foam in-between the two lenses that was ripped which was the "reason" it was like that. but it actually is an anti-fog layer and i wiped it out and it only got worse. so i suggest not even touching the inside of the goggle. just let it dry out if it is like mine and fogged up, or send it in for a new one. didn't cost me a penny
 
Sorry to say but you ruined the lense. I did the same thing unfortunately. The inside lense, as stated by someone else, has an anti-fog coating that when wet becomes soft, hence the smudge. Best bet is to leave it be or you'll make it worse.
 
NEVER use windex on a goggle lens. You can pretty much kiss that thing goodbye. Best thing to do is remove the lens, use MILD soap (eg dish soap/mild hand soap) and gently clean with warm water, and blot w/the microfiber. Also Oakley offers a lens cleaner kit online--they won't tell ya this online but it is free refills for life--just has a lower alcohol content so it won't wear off the iridium coating. To my knowledge there is no anti fog treatment on the lenses (at least not on last years). Generally the smudging thing can be solved by blotting gently, not smearing. (this goes for when you get snow in your gogs on the hill too).
 
Sorry dude you never get the inside of the lens wet and then wipe it, yes there is an anti fog coating on them. Thats why you get a smearing cloudy look on the inside lens. Always blot the inside lens when wet, but if you can just let tem dry before wiping the inside lens. The outside lens just fog them with your breath and and wipe with the micro bag. Never use cleaners, they are soft plastics man! if the goggles get super wet, pull the lens out so to let them dry out well, or you will end up having moistre between the lenses and they will fog inbetween.
 
Yep. Normal soap is fine, you won't damage any coatings. Try not to get water between the layers but don't worry if you do - I had some Spys fog in between the layers once and the only way to fix them was to totally submerge them, they were totally fine after that. Shake off the water, leave them to dry then wipe with the goggle pouch or a fresh t-shirt.
