Oakley Employees bunch of asses.

ok so I called Oakley recently, because I wanted to know some info on their "behind enemy Lines" jacket. The dude was a total ass hole. I told him I was calling about that jacket, he said ok, go on. I said ok well when do you guys expect for your stores to get the jacket, like Backcountry, etc.... He said, "it says all of this on the site" in a real bitchy tone, like he didnt give a fuck about my questions, which i could tell he didnt. The site says when they will start shipping orders, not when Backcountry and those places will get it. I asked him a few other which i thought were normal questions, and he made me feel like a complete jackass. After about two minutes into the conversation ( wasnt much of one ) I hung up on him, because frankly, I dont like feeling like a 2nd grader. Bottom line, He was a total ass and could care less about the questions, and information, I was trying to find out. Within the next five minutes I called up Backcountry. I asked the dude when they think they will get the jackets in, and if they are going to even carry the jacket. The dude didnt complain and was really friendly, and found the information i needed within seconds. Its sad when someone from Backcountry knows more about Oakley then the guy taking calls for them. This wasnt the first time that Oakley customer service has been like either. It happened to me again last year, and a few of my friends as well. Im not dissing Oakleys products, Im just saying it sets a pretty shitty example when you have such assholes taking your customers phone calls.

i ordered pants last week but i couldnt find my wallet so the guy said he would would the pair of pants for me untill i find my wallet and call back.. his name was matt and was real chill

the people from backcountry are people who love being outdoors and that stuff and care more about other people. the oakley people are just a bunch of people that cruise the citys and usually total bitches. any one agree with me.

Hah ya i do. I guess it coulda been this dudes bad day or something, but i mean, its the second time its happend to me. All i wanted to do was find out a few things, ask a few questions, but the guy seriously was a total ass.

Pretty cheese questions.  Call backcountry to find out when they get it.  Hows some random dude gonna know that, let aone about a snow jacket out of a huge line.  Skiing is a small part of all of Oakley.

semi - legit complaint

you should have called backcountry.com in the first place. they know when they have stuff coming in. an oakley employee isn't going to know everything about where the product is shipping and what each individual retailer ordered.

it was probably one of those foreign emplyees that are raised to talk on the phones. its like sales calls. the sales call person knows nothing but just gets you interested so you call them up later or go online. its a set-up.

agreed. don't make judgments on the whole company based off of one dude. and if you wanted to know when backcountry.com was getting them, call backcountry in the first place. oakley ships to so many different locations, so i'm sure it's tough to know exactly when a specific piece of outerwear is arriving at a specific location. that doesnt give the guy a reason to be real short with you. i've never had any bad experiences with oakley, that sucks that that one guys attitude was a little off.

one employee does not represent the entire intresest of a company.  usually when sales people are being dicks it is because other shit going on, i think thats pretty obvious, and that they dont really have a problem with you.  and you shouldnt have hung up on him, you should have pointed out that he was making you feel like an ass, he probably didnt even know and it would have cleared the whole problem up

The main thing is that Oakley makes great stuff. Who cares if you had one bad phone call. Suck it up.

my friend called oakley last year and talked to a really nice lady who hooked him up with one of their last few neon green onepieces.  he was stoked.

why did it take you 5 minutes from your call to oakley to the one at backcountry.com? wiping away the tears from the oakley call? He treated you like a 2 year old because you are one, pussy.

YES. Thank you. Please read the whole fucking story? I said it wasnt the first time this had happend to me or some of my friends. I also said i didnt ask JUST that question. He was just being an ass no matter what i said. and i also didnt say ANYTHING bad about oakley, i didnt diss their product, i told you my story, about how ive had numerous bad encounters with Oakley employees, along with my friends. So Please, Read the whole fucking story b4 you start calling me out on shit. Thank you.

i dont normally disagree with you. that employee is representing the company. i know if i call someone up, or go into a sotre, and they are being dicks, im not gunna shop there. ill take my business somewhere else.

hmm.. I'll agree that you should have called backcountry to find out more about your questions on the shipping of the jacket.

On another note, i think fine to complain about customer service. The people on the phone represent the company, and i know that when I'm looking for something to buy i'd like to at least get treated with some respect as being a potential customer. Even if he didn't know the information, or the information is already on the site, I mean isn't he the one trying to support the company he works for with a good attitude and representation of Oakley, even if the questions do seem dumb to him?

Im not saying that im never going to buy Oakley equipment tho. I think the equipment is dope, thats why i was calling about the Jacket in the first place. Im just never going to buy straight through them, and support other companys that carry their gear, like backcountry. And dude, how many times do I have to say this. THIS was not the first time someones been an asshole, and its been numerous times for my friend to.

Dude i dunno... comparing an oakley sales rep with a mcd's register worker is a stretch. The fact is that he got a bad rep,(more than once) and he was complaining about it. ALOT of people do this,(BBB?). The fact is I'm sure alot of people here LOVE oakley and don't want to hear bad stuff about it, and it wasn't the wisest choice calling straight there. plus he is probably still going to buy the jacket, but i doubt he'll call back.

Your later comment where you will inevitably get an ass hole definitely seems like a cop-out. I think it is entirely reasonable to have negative opinions of a company due to somebody it chooses to employ. Same goes with ski companies and the athletes they bring on to represent (a big reason why a lot of people despise ninthward, for example).

It's a bit rash to say the entire company is a bunch of asses, that much is true. But having instances of bad customer service is something that can warrant negative views towards a company.
