Even if Oakley was aware of Ankilla and his style, saying they copied him is wild af, it isn’t that unique and doesn’t take that much brain power, especially from a multi-million dollar company who employ real designers that have made groundbreaking shit for decades ??

I mean I somewhat doubt it too. But I would never underestimate a larger company's ability to steal designs and ideas of smaller artists/creators. This shit happens all the time.

I mean billion dollar corps hop on trends started underground every day. It's a lower financial risk to do what is trendy than to be the trend setter, even for Oakley. Not that I necessarily think they consciously chose to copy ankilla, I just think the response to the ankilla allegations is hilarious.

The fact that there is a bandwagon bitching out Oakley and Sammy C for copying ankilla’s style is so out there. it’s on brand for Oakley to an extent and and to think they looked to ankilla is insane given if they even knew who he was beforehand and that if they did they’d know he isn’t widely respected in freeskiing.
Sammy raging was unhinged and not needed, like many of you all that really surprised me. Dude is an absolute legend and lives such a sick life how and why does he care about this. Write a long response if anything vs instagram beefing, would have landed better. I wouldn’t have believed any of this happened if someone told me in person haha
