Oakley coat

yea i wasn't looking for any smart remarks. I just was seeing if anyone had any experience with it or whatever.

 
it is meant for streetwear. I have it and it soaks up water like a sponge. I dont recommend it for a ski jacket, but it is your preference

I dream of winter.
 
if it has like 0 water proof then its outta of the question. If it has some just not good i think i could probably deal with it.

 
Judging by the pricepoint, I would expect more of a fancy windbreaker type jacket. Something with warmpth, but not so much functionality (if thats a word?).

Why don't you look at something more liek a Mace jacker? That's what I'm going to pick up, and my locan shop wells them for $450 (Mt. Kirby Skis and Boards).

 
anorak is definately streetwear. if you wanted it still, you could always pick up some waterproofing spray or wash or something and give that a whirl, no guarantees of course

 
simon dumont wore it skiing in the movie X, he must not know its a streetwear jacket right? i mean he's only sponsored by Oakley, it's not like he should know what hes wearing

it's a snow jacket. when you go to the oakley website you click on 'VIEW ALL SNOW JACKETS AND VESTS' under appereal.

Henry. The jacket will not burst into flames if you wear it on a mountain. Simply, it is designed as a fasionable coat, rather than a functional one. It can be work skiing, it can be worn at school, it can be worn while making waffles! It is a jacket, and will keep you warmer than if you were not wearing a jacket. It just doesnt perform as well as other jackets made for skiing specifically, or so is the story.

Henry, there more to it than that. Out west, the climate is naturally warmer. Assuming that's where he is, up in the alps like that still doesn't compare to a place like Edmonton where it's generally freezing.

As for the jacket itself, depending on your location you may not need such a thicker or warmer coat. Though this is a local forum to me, and many other Ontario riders post on here, there are still people who don't need all that many layers.

Maybe next time take into consideration where he's posting from, and try and help him.
