I heard that some independent yet established company made and inquiry to a big conglomerate to buy out their brand....

is the pertaining to Armada with Oakley or does anyone else know whats up?

and why wouldn't oakley buy armada out? makes since if they want to break into a market they buy the 'cool' brand/brand that has almost all exclusive Oakley riders.

ahh, i see, so then oakley would make all of the marketing decisions.

that would be realy good for skiing i think, because oakley has such a tremendous backing, in the amount of money they have and theier investors are very loyal. this could for shure put skiing up with snowboarding if it were to happen and oakley were to put a good amount of money and effort into it. but then the question is, is armada a grass roots type company because they 'sold out' to a big company like oakley?

thanks freeski for finally understanding and seeing it my way, I'm almost 100% positive this happened but who knows if oakley will go for it. As for Armada 'selling-out' I think it would be sick to see a company like Armada stepping up next to the big boy conglomerates like Salomon and Rossi, that market is totally different from the independent market and then you gotta thing that you have soo many others there it would be good to split it up, it wouldn't suprise me if 4frnt tries something like this too.
