as they have exploded into the ski industry, they also have killed off alot of parts to it too. dont get me wrong, i love oakley. they're legit as fuck. they started out in the 70s making grips for bikes then evolved into an optic company. they really do make some of the best goggles, sunglasses, and so on and so forth. if you take a look at the B/S/T forum youll find oakley outerwear
 
as they have exploded into the ski industry, they also have killed off alot of parts to it too. dont get me wrong, i love oakley. they're legit as fuck. they started out in the 70s making grips for bikes then evolved into an optic company. they really do make some of the best goggles, sunglasses, and so on and so forth. if you take a look at the B/S/T forum youll find oakley outerwear all over it. oakley has taken over the outerwear industry in skiing. this pisses me off because i want more ocre companies like saga, sms, and friends to make it big in this industry. but if all the little kiddies at home watching the x-games and watching sammy, simon, and tanner (three of the biggest names in the biz) throw down in their 09 banana suits, they run to their mommys yelling can i get that next year? huh? can i!? it makes it impossible for all our friends to make it in this area of work. i want to see more companies like EC popping up and having the same experience. going from a bunch of homemade clothes in the basement to having them fly off the shelves at jibij or where ever the fuck they are.

sparknotes: oakley making outerwear is pissing me off. i want more outerwear only compaines to make it big. but if oakley is a mega company they wont be able to make it.
 
i see where your coming from,but some of their stuff does look pretty sick but its brought down a ton becuase so many fucken pros wear it. so i in some ways agree with you becuase there need to be more original,smaller companies making it big so everyone can have their own steeze and not just some pros. so im all for saga,sms and friends making it big and oakley having a much more original,and smaller clothing inventory.+karma for u becuase i never looked at it like that until i read this
 
You gotta give oakley credit though. They support this industry a ton, actually make legit products, and started from scratch; which is no easy feat. I think it's not that oakley is so big, but the problem is that this industry is so small.
 
i give them tons of credit,some of their stuff is wicked sick, but i just feel that oakley is over worn in so many cases

Oakley is the sickest all around company ever. I mean there are companies with better looking and performing outerwear but I can get Oakley from the Vault for next to nothing. I buy pretty much everything I wear at the Vault cause it's cheap and really good quality and nobody at my school wears it so it's fresh as fuck. I just think they can always make a great quality product and they make enough models that if you want something that isn't played it's easy to find.
 
yeah word i do. like i said, i love the optical part of the company but all the outerwear just makes me mad.
 
i think all of what oakley makes is dope shit,but just some of it has lost all the umpff it would have and steeze becuase all the kids want to wear it.so major props to them but im all for smaller companies making it big in the industry
 
theres not that much oakley around where i am.. It actually mostly burton/ ronin. me being in northern NY and butron factory being in burlington, 45 min away; people seem to have fast and easy access to it around the east and thats just what they rock. other than burton, i havent seen any small core companies, but would like to.
