O2 ski game

There was a thread on this but there are so many threads with the same title so I just dediced to make a new one. This game is super cool. The graphics are weak but it's alot harder/different than jibbin + so I wanted to share it. Off axis spins are easier to do but landing is pretty hard. At first you'll probably hate it but once you get used the controls and actually land stuff I think you'll like it. Press 0 to get to the top of the course.

works fine for me, this game is pretty cool, needs a lot of work but the entire movement system is completely different than any other skiing/snowboarding game out there. With a bunch of tweaks and graphics work, this game will be awesome. I think it has way more potential than Jibberish.

Does anyone know if the creators are on NS? I'd love to get to talk to them about working on this with them. I tried the email on their website but haven't gotten a response.

yeah, i noticed your making your game and saw this and thought you'd work well with them, dunno if they;re on ns, would be good if they were...

ok it works on vista

you just need to enable it to run as windows xp file.

google to see how to do this.

sry i have a midterm right now

Man this game is addicting. I can't wait to see the next version though. I hope thye work on making tricks a little easier to land. It's gets annoying falling when yours just a little backseat, expecially since the whole game is about corking shit. Also, I think speed needs to accelerate faster, or have a "shift cheat" like in jibbin. And when you start going fast towards jumps it gets hard to take off right.

Overall it's pretty sick for an early alpha version. I like the freedom to really do bio 5s perfectly, and switch 5s and every cork trick realistically. Very fun.

yes definetly needs work but I'd play it over jibberish any day. I'm surprised no one talked about no rail features. I don't like teh diffuctly in landing backseat..

but shifty 5's are my favourite trick so far

Yeah backseat or tip heavy on switch is really annoying. I just keep emailing them with everything I find that is annoying. I can't wait for the next version.

Thanks everyone for checking out O2, and sorry it took us so long to get to some of your emails. I think we've gotten to all of them now. We appreciate all the feedback from email and here on newschoolers and will incorporate it into future releases, and we're adding a lot of the questions here to the FAQ. Fixed the problem with the installer too where it only adds an uninstall link to the start folder. Thanks again!

woot new version out! keep em comin!

Also i have a slight problem with my game if anyone knows how to fix it please share:

Whenever i press mouse button down and then release my skier just makes a rediculous flail action and doesn't actually leave the ground. I have tried switching mice but nothing worked. I did play the game at school so im not a dumbass (i dont think) and know how to actually play the game but for some reason this problem only occurs on my home computer. It is way better than the other computers i have played o2 on so i don't think its a question of hardware (except maybe the widescreen monitor?) If anyone has any solutions/sudgestions please share. Thanks.

That is how I got it to work on Windows Vista, or you can run it as an XP file. If you are scratching your head about what an XP file is, just do the first one.

If you don't have a flash drive, just go to the .exe file in program fiiles (the name should be o2skiing), then right click it and select properties from the drop down window (usually the last one). On the pop-up window, click on the compatibilities tab and then run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP.

If you still can't do it, just message me and I will send you some step-by-step instructions with pictures.

I also have a Mac and if you have an Intel-based one, you can run Windows XP on it. Just message me if you need help.

this sucks... i downloaded it and i can only uninstall it, not play it. And i know you are supposed to go to program files and find it, but where is program files?

so i can get it to the o2 skiing page where it says "play" "controls" and"quit" but i cant seem to start the game!!! please somebody help!

just wonderin after seeing your blog and such, have you tried usine WINE to run it in mac? Im in linux and the game works perfect using it.

t so its downloaded and saved, and i've pulled up the c drive for the files, and everytime it just makes me redownload it. after it gets done loading, it minimizes. wtf.

FINALLY i got it working on my mac!!!

all you have to do is download crossover which is an app that takes windows apps and ports 'em for the mac

Am I just retarded or is it impossible to land anything? theres no way to keep the spin on axis so its completely dumb luck if you land anything.

yea, i downloaded it, i can get on to the page with ski controls and quit, but when i click any of them it just stays on the same page

If they could get this or jibbin for mac, that would be fantastic. But people have been saying that about jibbin for as long as it's been out. CURSE YOU!!!!!!
