Alright NS, so I just got done with my alcohol informant classes because it was required for the MIP I got in October. Thats kind of irrelevant though because my "stoner" ass brought up the issue of legalization with weed because they were drug counselors teaching us and I wanted to here there view on it. It was the typical bull-shit of how weed is just the same as every drug like how THC is addictive(which imo its not) but i guess its up to the experts eh. Id just like to say that I literally debated every single point the had about it and made them look stupid pretty much. Id like to thank all these threads on NS for my knowledge and thought it'd be right to share with you guys that its good to get it off your chest to those kind of people. I realized that the only way in making it legal is for the politicians to here us speak out, so lets act and send emails to our congressman and senators talking about legalization. Now I know alot of you are going to say that tons of people are already doing this, but the more the merrier. Do it NS>

Thats what Im trying to say, but there no it is we've had patients say that they absolutley cant stop. I was like thats bull shit, I can stop when ever I want to, its simply a choice.

I fully support your views on marijuana, but you are making yourself look stupid writing the way you are. Please don't write to any congressmen with this level of writing, you will make us all look stupid.

Their brains aren't necessarily chemically addicted, but addicted in another way. Some people get addicted to the lifestyle, but not the actual substance.

good to know. i just cant stand the fucking homonyms: hear/here, right/write, there/their/they're...

I used to smoke a lot, then I decided to stop. Haven't smoked in about a year and a half. It wasn't hard at all, and people who succumb to peer pressure are just push overs. I have absolutely no problem with anyone smoking, I just choose not to.

it won't be legalized for many years, everyone should get used to it. And i don't see it as a problem, just dont get caught. I mean if it does get legalized what is going to change? They are still going to give out Oui's if they catch you smoking while driving, and noone is going to rip a bowl out in public because that is sort of like watching a guy drinking on the street, noone wants to see it cause not everyone loves it. my two cents.

even though you say you aren't an idiot, and only write like this on NS, it would be easier for all of the readers if you used the correct words.

here does not equal hear. especially when you are trying to talk about your thoughts on weed and whatnot. correct grammar will make you appear smarter and not just some stoned highschooler that thinks weed should be legalized just because you and all your little friends do it and are tired of having to hide it.

Actually, we had 2 police officers come into my CALM class and we had an open discussion about current crime and all that. So we were all pretty open about everything. Now I have never smoked anything in my life, but I do know about stuff. So anyways, they said that it's not so much the drugs that they hate, it's the alcohol. They said that in all honesty they would rather have marijuana legalized over alcohol, however they stated that even though they would rather have marijuana legalized over alcohol they would rather have them both illegal (obviously). They said that alcohol may be more of a problem right now then marijuana because alcohol is more readily available, but if you legalize marijuana in 20 years it will be just as bad as alcohol because it would be more readily available. So that kind of gave me a different perspective on that. Honestly, I think that weed is about as "legalized" as its gonna get right now with out being completely illegal. It's not really a big problem to society so it will most likely stay like this.

i told my hebrew school teacher (who was a rabbi) that i didnt believe in god a couple years ago (when i was still in hebrew school).

we got into a little debate, but hes old and stubborn and crazy religious and like kicks kids out of his class. it was funny

i think it's safe to say that everyone can understand this thread when reading it because he only misspelled one word. Spelling does not equal grammar. Let it go.

That's sick that you showed those people who's boss (to the OP).

I think that marijuana legalization is a little like the gay rights movement in that the opposing sides no longer have any relevant or for that matter real points to make against weed/gaymarriage. They are just opposing it because of the almighty "tradition"no real logical sense.
But fuck yeah, Ive found the herb threads pretty useful and often humorous

that seems odd. weed is wayy more readily available than alcohol where i'm at.i'm a junior in HS in MA btw

yea thats how I feel. But Im not over 21. It can take up to two hours on some nights to get liquor, but if I want bud all I have to do is make one phone call if Im lucky(almost am ever time).

i used to see it that way too

now that my friends have gotten fake ID's and what not, getting alcohol is so easy, weed on the other hand has kinda stayed where its at, which seems that i have to go through a couple people to get it instead of driving a friend with an ID to a store

weed pretty much is legal, unless you are a dumbass. most people get caught once and figure out unless you get caught IN THE ACT you can def get out of it. being high isnt illegal.

bottom line shits probably not going to change for another 50 years, at which point the government will figure out a way to tax the shit out of it like tobacco and make money off of it.. not really a better option in my opinion

I was in a month long chemical dependency class earlier this year because I got caught smoking the reefer. I told the counselor that I thought it should be legal to smoke weed and that I was going to continue doing it after my probation ended. He said he agreed then asked me which end of the joint I liked to smoke.

I was talking about legalization of weed to the drug counselor at my school and she was convinced that it would be legalized by the time Obama has finished his first term, and im not guaranteed but i have heard rumor that it is on the january ballot for Oregon.

i completely agree with this although just the thought if it being legal would be nice and it would be alot cheaper.

Fuck legalizing weed. Like do we really want weed to turn weed into tobacco? Fuck that shit. And to all those people that say weed is not addicting, that is straight up bull shit. Weed is wicked addicting. Try smoking every day of your life for three years and then quit. I guarantee you will not be able to sleep that night...

Wait, what?

You only stick to weed if you have nothing better to do. You know when I smoke? When I am tired after work or school. You know when it interferes with my life? Never.

People stick to weed because they have nothing better to do. It doesn't hurt them, but they don't care enough to pick their asses up and work. You can't blame weed for people being lazy fucks without motivation.

Even though I really don't smoke a ton of weed like most of NS I am all for making it legal.

That said, do you realize how HARD it is to get ahold of your Congressman/woman or Senator? Emails I kinda doubt they read cause I have sent one to my Congressman and Senators at least 2 times a year about legalizing weed and have yet to hear anything back that they even read it. And then to call them is even harder. Trying to get the fucking answering machine or an aid to talk to is a mega bitch.

More power to you thoug if you keep trying.

I want them to FULLY legalize it. So it would be legal to grow and sell also, kinda like how people make their own beer and start their own small company. That way you always know what's in your weed.

And weed is not addicting, it's habit forming. If you smoke a bowl before bed every night for a year, it will be very hard to sleep without it. It's similar to how I can't sleep without noise because I live in the city. Whenever I go to a really quiet place I have a ton of trouble sleeping because I've become so accustomed to sleeping with the sound of cars and other city noises.

haha i love how you got a mip and they made you go to calss- fucking pa- when i got mine i had to do 20 hours of community service- that was ocean city md though

Weed is non-addictive! Trust me i smoke everyday and I could quit in two seconds. It just feels like you have to smoke ever time you get in a situation to do so. Being high is fun and thats why everyone does it end of story!

If your going to push for the legalization, you have to sound or appear to be an intelligent productive member of society. Also if you really are serious about the campaigning, you're going to have to come up with some new arguments; your senators have heard all of the non-addicting, etc arguments. But think about it, now if you get caught; slap on the wrist, probation, then you can go back to buying cheap and good weed. If its legalized, there will most likely be THC regulations and an oz will cost you an arm, leg, and your soul.

here it is for anyone interested in watching it. if you watch it with an open mind it is quite intriguing. definitly got some good points to consider in it.

last year my health teacher made everyone do projects on specific drugs and things like that.....every single presentation was talking about all the negatives of drugs until the kid who was assigned weed came up. He came up in front of the class with a full presentation with sources to back up all of his info talking about why weed is not bad for you......our teacher couldnt have been more angry, probably the funniest presentation and most interesting presentation i've seen in school.

Isnt that why everyone wants it legalized?

Get off your high horse of spelling and grammar, the kid allready said he knows how to spell.

*note the lack of an apostrophe on 'Isnt'. its just faster to type this way.

1) That's an impossible analogy to use considering how different it is. Spelling generally isn't a life or death issue.

2) It's not really that retarded considering that it's tales less time to type with fewer letters, it still gets the point across, and grammar/spelling nazi's like you bump the thread for a longer period of time than if someone typed correctly.

My bad bros, I can retype if your so inclined for me to do so. I just typed really fast because right after alcohol classes I had to go to do my community service for 4 hours. I only had about 15 minutes in-between so not that much time.
