Hey im from the BIG NZ and our season has just started and i need some skis.

im 5'11 and 130-140 pounds. Im after a really good all mountain ski. we dont get too much soft snow here and i want something that carves well. Im not really experianced in the park but am planning to get it in this year. What ski would you recomend? Need any other info just ask me...

chronic blend, an all around good ski, will have enough beef for those times you do get that soft stuff, but is smooth and agile and will have you moving like a ninja through the park, pipe, and rest of the mountain. who doesn't want to be a ninja?

chronic blends solid choice. volkl karmas are hard to beat for all mountain and carving- look at those. Mojo 90 could work as could foils. Try some out and see what you feel. Chron Blends or Karmas seem best at first glance though

this is a grand point, as volkl does pay homeage to the one chuck norris, so you must choose, round house kicks or ninja moves. or you could be a pirate and get Made'N AKs, but i have a feeling that plundering the seven seas is not for you.

iggy may be right- the kingswood skinny would work well for you by the look of it, plus its made in NZ. Dunno if its affordable over there...How much is $950NZ? Only prob is that 170 is too short for your size and 185 would work so well for park. A size in between would help. Looks like karma it is then...

Not retarded, I have just ski more days in New Zelaand than you have had cold breakfasts, and know what are suited to these conditions.

I dont really want a very fat ski as we dont get much soft snow. maybe the biggest size i would be after would be an 85 waist like the pe or the foil. i am also lookin at the ar5 the karmas i have heard a really stiff and im quite light so not sure how they will do. i want something that i can actually flex but with good all mountain capabillities

the 175 ARVs might be good for you cuz theyre soft but you dont have much weight so I bet it would work.

chronic blends 177, looks to be a good fit, 90 underfoot isn't that wide, or also last years chronic wide in 177 may also work, they were 86 underfoot.

If you want your all mountain skiing to progress get a stiffer ski. The Karma would be perfect. I have seen a couple of pairs of AR5's goign cheap here in Wanaka. Kingswood skinny would be perfect. 2 year warrenty, choose your colours, and tehy are bomb proof. By NZ Made.

I know you want to click it - www.freeskier.co.nz

Two options with the Kingswoods:

1. If you are finished growing buy the 170cm with extra flex, to make it stiffer. That way it will absolutely crank all the mountain, from park, groomers, crud, pow, etc.

2. If still growing get the 185 with normal flex.

Warning dont click on this link, it will break your computer - www.freeskier.co.nz

How much do the kingswoods go for? i love that car the HQ kingswood. neway yea how much are they because i know a guy who can get me some foils ar5's PE and some other brands cheap but i dont think he can do the kingswoods. for some reason i really like the sound of the 1080 foil. i hear it carves well is good in the park nice and light good all round ski, i like the sound of the karma too but i think its flex will be too stiff for me.

Check out www.kingswoodskis.com for prices, I heard a rumour they may have a special. You can ski a stiff ski in the park well, but you wont ski a park ski well on the rest of the mountain. (that is a specific park ski)

But I like a ski that I can ski super super fast, get it up on its edges and it still keeps cranking, if not accelerates more, you wont do that on a soft ski.

So what do you think out of theese? Karma, Chronic, Chronic wide, Mike nick(If i can get it. how come its not on there website?) Public Enemy, Ar5, Scratch FS not sure if i can get that one. not going to bother with the kingswood beacause i can get the others for cheaper and sizing not quite right for me.

Here is an easy answer. Why dont you try a few different skis out. Demos will start here next week up at Cardrona, TC and the Snowpark.

I have the complete Armada Demo range in all sizes and models so give them a go and see what you like best.

If that's what you've got to choose from, Karmas fa shizz, they fuckin own all mountain, also consider Foils coz they're widely available for demoing
