Nz or aus?

How many times have you been to australia to ride? At the resort I ride at we have 17ft super pipe, and 3 parks. I wouldnt say it was mammoth but no where is mammoth. It definately is a long long way away from shit dude. Have you ever even left your home town???

Ohh come on really kids, give Aus a chance. Who has actually looked in to skiing in Aus? I'm guessing the majority of people on this site wouldn't know that you could actually ski here, and those who do know wouldn't be able to name where.

Oh and let me see, who had the better season last year? With real snow, not that shit that Snowpark is covered in.

I have a lot of respect for what NZ has and gets, and maybe now is time to pay you out for your accents....and sheep fucking.... well I'd choose skiing at home over NZ any day. They both have their pros and cons, but you know what, I'm not gonna be a spoilt little shit and say that what we have isn't good enough, because it is good enough for where we're at and what we've got to deal with.

but seriously. australias back country skiing cannot compare to NZ. i havent personally been to oz, but i havent heard a single thing about BC skiing in oz. and everyone knows the BC skiing in NZ is epic.

as far as park skiing goes, all i have to say is Snowpark NZ. on top of that cardrona has a park that is getting close to being as good at Snowpark. Add all the club fields that exist and the powder accessed so easily and australia has nooo fucking chance.

plus, the season this year is predicted to be one of the best ever.

not to mention that all the pros go to NZ. TJ, Tanner, Eric, Seth to metion a small percentage.

you've missed the point. you can't compare NZ resorts to Aus. IT'S TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS.

we've both got our own bias seeing as we're both going to say our resorts rock more.

but what i said before was that Aus is great for what they've got to work with. We don't get the opportunities like NZ does.

So you know what, if you're going to be such a fucking asshole about it, you can shove NZ up your ass, coz I don't want to go to a resort that's so high headed they think they'r better than my own country and are going to try and make a point of it. I find it offensive that you keep saying Aus is shit, because it's not. Like I've said so many times, you can't compare the two.
 
If you can't compare them than what exactly is your point? If you don't get the opportunities that NZ does does that mean we should be giving Australia handicap points or something??
 
nobody is trying to say that the skiing here is 'not good enough' or shit, it's only a question of which place would be better. and i think for the majority of people nz has more to offer. its not saying that aus has notheing either. and yes, last year we had a better season than they did, but that's pretty unusual.
 
we actually do have a fair bit of backcountry skiing, but its got nothin onn yours. it's mostly fairly low angle and pretty short stuff, but fun none the less.
 
As they say in Ski school "skiing is partying and partying is skiing" and even tought i never went to NZ I can definetly say that Aus as a lot of partying, and I never heard anything good about NZ on that angle.

And Australia does have some decent BC, but not long enough.
 
New Zealand... some day, I'm gonna live there and be a crazy anthropologist on the weekdays and a skiing-hot-suga-mama on the weekends.
 
they're pretty equal in my opinion but i would pick NZ because its smaller and would be easier to get around the whole country
 
never been to nz but snow park is sick, and other resorts are steeper than ours in oz. But we still have good resorts and good parks and pipes. Either way if both have good snown oz or nz is good. The only issue with oz is the low elevations of the resorts.

haha i dunno what to say but i will try.

park in oz is easily better than the best cardies, ruapehu, remarks park. easily.

it is however nowhere as good as snowpark. nowhere near as good.

the small amount of BC skiing in oz is also pretty fucking dope but it is very small and terrain of the same pitch with better snow quality is more easily accesible straight off the lifts in NZ and there is alot more of it also.

so in a nutshell, skiing in oz is far from crap like alot of people think but if you were spending your $$$ capeesh dosh to come all the way from America i would choose NZ.

this is a completley unbiased opinion from me who grew up skiing in NZ and moved to aussie and now works seasons in aussie.

^seems like a pretty good wrap up. Never been to NZ but would def like to in the near future. Oz isn't that bad, its only once you go overseas that you realsie there is something better than good...

if youre looking at pure skiing, i would have to say than nz does beat oz - but there arent many places in nz where theres an on hill village as such so the nightlife generally isnt as good. its about the whole package peoples
 
australia is just shit compared to NZ. And Aussies talk funny. When you do ever hear about skiing stuff and icons in Aus? never. Snowpark,TC ect is now really well known all over the world for being sick.

Plus then you find the NZ BC which is amazing. Sure the resorts are smaller but the skiing there is like 100 times better.And its just a cooler place.

How can you NOT compare Aussie skiing with NZ skiing?? It's skiing vs skiing, apples vs apples, what's wrong with you? And yes, skiing in Australia is shit, you get crap snow, not much of it, millions of people, it's hell expensive and you're surrounded by Australians asking you "ooh how about that world cup aye? aye? aye?" And what's worse? close to 50,000 of you come over here every year to ski on OUR slopes! I guess that's coz our mountains are shit and yours are heaps better. I wonder how many of us go to ski on your mountains?

You might have nice beaches with millions of beautiful women (and a serious underground drug problem) but lets' face it, when it comes to winter sports, how can you possibly even come close to ranking on the same scale as some of the gnarliest mountain ranges in the world. And whoever said 'Australia' and 'backcountry' in the same sentence should be shot, you made me spit milk all over my desk,

You do have some nice tax breaks though... and McLeods daughters...

man youve got no idea about bc in aus its sick like super sick places like watsens crags and blue lake cliffs are a day trip from gutherga and have some of the steepest shit anywhere not to mention little austria or mt tete and tynam
 
you fuckers can argue about what has the best skiing: its irrelevant- the UK's combination of dryslopes and molehills in scotland fucking own your shitty little resorts. milton keynes, england has the best big mountain shit in the world, EVER- no questions. furthermore, the UK parks are the best- they were gonna have the x games at sheffield ski village but some wank yanky resort called aspen got it...

just putting it out there- take it or leave it...

NZ has better skiing, But the girls in New Zealand are the uglyest bitches on the planet, so take a girl with you or youll end up looking at sheep in a whole new way just like the locals. Australia is good too Falls has a sick park and the freeriding at hotham is sick but Nz is better overall but the girl situation makes Australia that much better the girls here are a billion times hotter.
 
Ok so I have to say something here as it does seam to be fun although now its turned into a shit fight. Any area mountain that has snow and we can slide is good, brussels sprouts on the other hand are bad. So in conclusion to this thjose who like to ski dont eat brussel sprouts and people who like brussel sprouts snowboard.

NZ is sick & Oz is sick, you are sick and i am sick, we are all sick so poop in your face.

Last note did you know an elephant is the oonly animal that cant jump, crazy so thats why we dont see any elephants in the Parks.
