Goin to new zealand at the end of September and wondering who or where has the best heli skiing or maybe just the best for the price. southern island, i'll be in wanaka

harrid mountains heli is sick... from what i have heard cause i aint been but there is a heap of them in wanaka like 6 or 7 companys so i suppose...yeh. any heli skiing is good!!!

If youre just going on vacation id just ski the resorts in NZ and save my money to heli ski somewhere worth it, like canada or alaska

harris mountain, also southern lakes, they probably both have offices in wanaka, certainly in queenstown. stay a few days to get a good chance at decent weather. they also have this nz superpass which will reduce the price somewhat for harris heliskiing.

also, there are heli operations out of methven, near christchurch.

bump. So how has the powder been in NZ the past couple years. Moving down there and need to know if the cash for heli is worth it.
 
Flying is cheaper in NZ than in a lot of place in the world, foreign exchange plays in your favor. However the terrain is often flat, intermediate at best unless you have sick guides that can ski and know waht a gnarly line is. Mid sept is a little late for powder isn't it? Specially right now the snow fall is less than stellar and avie danger is up the richter.
