NYC Cops Hard at Work at West Indian Day Parade

I should of mentioned that 1 police officer and 3 civilains were shot. Right after the parade a 60 year old woman was killed by a stray bullet while sitting on her front stoop.

And some dude was shooting his gun into the air 3 blocks from where the mayor was walking in the parade.

I think all of this reflects more poorly on those who attended the parade than the police. It's their own celebration, why do they have to ruin it with violence?

These cops gathered support of hundreds of people around them by participating, and i guarantee the people won't forget that quickly.

And in any case, it's not as if these few cops had any huge lapse in duty. While unprofessional as all hell, had someone in the area started shooting or fighting, they would have been on that.
