So I was drunk last night and when I woke up in the morning my number keys and enter key were not working. All of the other keys are working fine it's just those particular keys that seem to be having issues. It is kinda a pain in the ass when your passwords on the computer include numbers and are having to use google to copy and paste those numbers. I tried going through the system preferences to see if something had been switched off under the mouse and keyboard settings but it had not. I was also searching on mac forums to see if someone had encountered the same problem but alas once again I had no such luck... So if anyone has any suggesting besides alt F four would be much appreciated.... see i can't even put the number four fml.... Sorry for the spacing of the post, not being able to press return kinda does that haha Love you NS, your friend always Steezeepolizeee

I don't think i spilled on the comp cuz i wasn't drinking around it, I tried turning off the number lock but it doesn't look like it was on though. Thanks for the suggestion +K

you can replace the key pad but if its the actual button, then you will have to get it repaired. either way you are going to have to bring it to an apple store or send it in so they can work on or replace what needs to be fixed. hope that helped

if you don't want to send it in you could always buy one of those external number pads, the ones that only have the 4 columns of keys on the right side of the keyboard.

could of spilled something on it, i had a macbook that got cofee spilled on it and it worked fine for a couple hours until some of the keys stopped working, then it jsut fried or something cus it never turned on again and i had to buy a new computer

I always recommend getting applecare with a mac, i have had mine break down over 5 times and although applecare is expensive, it didnt cost me a penny and the repairs have accumulated to over 2 grand. Try going in and seeing what they'll do for you. Sounds like that is your best bet

yea... I think i will just have to take it in, not having numbers is being a huge pain in the ass when trying to tell ppl what my phone number is

quit acting like you dont want a mac^

but i would tak it in my mom didnt have apple care on her macbook pro (the last generation) and her s and d key got all fucked up and they fixed it for free!

it does sound like a nice cheap answer for at home but if you taking you computer places with you, you dont usually want to carry another keyboard around also. good luck on getting it fixed. all my mac stuff has been craping out lately too.

for the most part, apple software never has issues. even though apple does use quality parts for their computers, they are just like any other part for any other computer, or any other sort of product in the world, and that they can and will break.

i mean my harddrive failed on my macbook pro, and almost lost all my data after 2 months of having it, while my other friends who have macs have never ever had a problem. everyones parts comes from the same places, and all the parts have the same rate of failure from product to product. shit happens, you cant always predict or catch every product that is going to fail

Yea i think i still have another year for the warenty so i'm going to take it in sometime this week. Such a pain when ppl message me on FB chat and I can't respond cuz i can't press enter haha
