Nueroma

My dad is suffering with chronic nueroma which basicly means his foots messed up and its extremely hard for him to ski and extremely painful to take his boots on and off. I was wondering if anyone out there knew a boot that was either super comfortable or easy to put on or off or both. Any feedback helps

just for reference, i am not being a smart ass. full tilts. easy to get on and off and have a soft flex. i am not familiar with nueroma so i don't know if this would help. +vibes

do some research and go to a legitimate bootfitter. they can help with any issues like that and make sure they get him the perfect boot. a truly good bootfitter like the shop i work at in VA will guarantee comfort and do all kind of custom work until it's really perfect.

to be honest, full tilts might actually be the best choice just cause you can practically pull them in half down the middle and slide your foot in.

ZOM GEE FULL TILTZ FOR SHURRRREEEE

jk i have never worn them but a bootfitter is your best bet, if he gets new boots go to the bootfitter and make sure everything is as comfortable and properly working as possible

your dad is basically suffering from an enlarged nerve in the metatarsals (knuckles)of his foot. your body reacts against the enlarged nerve by building up fluid there, which hurts. a lot. just getting a new ski boot won't really do the trick.

does your dad wear any kind of orthotic in his every day shoes to help minimize the pressure put at that area of his foot?

i dont think he wears any sort of orthopedics but the only time his foot really hurts is when he puts his boot on. Thats when hes literally screaming. During the day it sometimes comes and goes but never as bad as when hes putting them on and off

Nordica Gransport. I think they discontinued them now (maybe up to 09/10 so you should still be able to find some) but they're kind of a mix between a rear-entry boot and a modern boot design. They made them for old Euro dudes who still ski when they're 90 and need something really easy to put on.

You know from what I understand, thats not exactly a safe condition to have. Has he gotten that checked out. As onenerdykid said, theres probably fluid there, which could be drained if he really needed it, but it would most likely come back. Did you dad ever hurt his foot or have surgery somewhere?

my dad has been to many doctors and has even had his foot fried by many of them which is what they do to treat it. He could get surgery but that would require him to be off his feet for a long period of time which hes trying to avoid if he can
